Holiday Villa Hotel & Residence City Centre Doha

I gave a bad review because the staff working there are inhumane. We missed our flight and bought new tickets from Turkey, and also booked a hotel and taxi. They refused to refund one day's stay, citing that I had already paid online and it was non-refundable. I understand there are rules, but from a human perspective, it would have eased my problem a bit. For such a large hotel, a one-day refund is like a drop in the ocean. Harriet and Eaint, learn to be more humane, as you are ruining the hotel's image. Regarding the hotel itself, I was satisfied. It was luxurious, spacious, and had all the facilities you could imagine: a good breakfast buffet, gym, swimming pool, and shop. In short, everything you could want. The toilet was so convenient, with a heated seat, bidet function for washing, and special features for women. The only minor drawback was one large cockroach in the room. If those two ladies had helped me, I would have given 5 stars.

This is a really good hotel, and I'd gladly stay here again. The room itself was well-furnished and laid out, with a small table perfect for eating and another that could be used as a workspace. We were surprised to find Russian TV channels, like TNT, and even Premier League football. After long days out exploring, it was wonderful to come back to the room and catch a match. The pool being open until 10 PM was a huge plus. It's a great pool, with a 1.8m deep section and water at a pleasant temperature – not cold at all. It's large enough for a good swim. Towels are provided, and there's a changing room. We enjoyed the breakfasts; we were never hungry. They had fruits like watermelon, melon, and pineapple. One day the coffee machine wasn't working, and the coffee from the thermopot wasn't great, but everything was fine the next day. The staff were responsive, and the beds were comfortable. Now, about the location. It might seem a bit far from the city center, but getting there is actually very easy, especially by public transport. Looking at the map, Al Mansoura Metro Station appears closer, about a 20-minute walk. However, it's much more convenient to use Umm Ghawalina Metro Station, which is on the Red Line. This is because there are free Metrolink buses that run from the metro stations to different neighborhoods. You just tap your metro card when you board, nothing is deducted, and it takes you to the metro. There's a stop for bus 118 right by the hotel, which goes directly to Umm Ghawalina. You can do the same on the way back. These buses run from early morning until around 1 AM, definitely as long as the metro is operating. It's incredibly convenient! On our departure day, we had a 10 AM flight, and we managed to have breakfast (which starts at 6 AM) and get to the airport using bus 118 and the metro. It was brilliant! Overall, I have only positive impressions of the hotel. Oh, and there's a 200 Dirham deposit. When checking out, allow a little extra time beyond just dropping off your key and saying 'checkout'.
