Old hotel with an old man taking care of all the duties and business. No much things to do in this boarder town as foods, fruits are no cheap. Our intention is to cross the boarder to Vietnam. Beware, there is a long line waiting for exit stamp at the immigration. As it is in the late evening so we turn back before our turn. The local people told us that we will be wasting our time in opposite immigration when returning to this town as the post open till 9:00pm only.
However, this hotel roof top can view the Vietnam side across the river (picture).

The elderly owner is incredibly kind, and his handwriting is beautiful! I highly recommend taking some time to chat with him.
From the upper floors, you can see Vietnam just across the border.
The room was spotless, and the location is fantastic. It's just a short walk to the China-Vietnam Friendship Park and very close to the Dongxing border crossing. Plus, Bukeshudian (bookstore), Salted Cream Coffee, and Xuezhen's Bakery are all within a 10-15 minute walk.

The owner was very welcoming. From the rooftop, you could see Vietnam just across the border. Dongxing is a humid and rainy place, and unfortunately, the room had a musty smell, which isn't ideal, especially for female travelers.

Traditional hotel in the heart of the old town. Very close to the border crossing. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I put my bike in the shop downstairs.

I recently stayed at this guesthouse, and it truly offers excellent value for money. It's spotlessly clean, the service is great, and the rooms each come with an en-suite bathroom and shower. They can accommodate 2 to 4 guests, and you can even enjoy views of Vietnam from the rooftop.
