Super fun! This was one of the theme hotels that were hidden on the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street set. Appropriately, the Rosslyn Hotels' brand icon is the Landlady from Kungfu Hustle. Upon arrival, you check in at the North Gate's Tourist Services Desk. The concierge welcomed me with a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and asking me to add their butler (Housekeeper Xiao Xiao) to my WeChat. If I needed anything, I just had to text the Housekeeper Xiao Xiao (who was super helpful with all my questions (in English) during my stay). Then the bellhop whisked me away, via golf cart, to my hotel. There were several hidden hotels, with different themes, throughout the set. The bellhop took me through an unassuming door among into what looked like an empty set, and up an elevator to the room floors. The walkway offered a lovely view of the Ming Qing Palace set next door. The rooms were supposed to be themed as Guangzhou and Hong Kong in the 70s and 80s, but could easily pass for old Shanghai. The room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable, the shower has nice and hot and with fantastic water pressure. The room has some of the largest closet space that I have seen in any hotel. The WiFi worked without the need to register a local cellphone number (I've found that many other hotels, in China, offered free WiFi, but you need to verify with an ID code text to you. The texts never come through to my U.S. phone number, so I have never been able to take advantage of free WiFi; that is until I got to this hotel.) The little details were delightful surprises around every corner. They always refer to guests as "laoshi" (an honorific of teacher, or master, bestowed to actors) or as "starlet". Not gonna lie, I really wanted to take home the pair of the room's bone china cups. The stay also comes with very decent breakfast buffet that had both Chinese and western dishes. They will even make you fresh wontons and noodle soups to order. The restaurants in the park are not great and quite expensive by China's standard. I recommend loading up at the more tasty free breakfast to power through the day. The hotel's location was very convenient for touring Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street; which had very lively evening shows. (As you walk through the streets, look at the stores' signs and test your TV shows and movie knowledge by finding the Easter eggs.) The Qing Ming Palace Set is across the street from the Guangzhou Street and Hong Kong Street's South Gateon the other side of the park (don't worry, it's not that far). To access the other sets, you can take their shuttle, but it does not come around very often. It's more efficient to get a Didi. Overall, it was a magical stay of being in the movies.

This place is truly unique. The evening activities in the park are very immersive and engaging. Breakfast is served within the park as well, though it's quite simple. Our room had a vintage feel, and we were assigned the 'Decadent Dreams' series – the bed was pretty soft. You can also explore the park after it closes for the night, and there are quite a few snack shops and small stores inside.

The room isn't small and there's an elevator, which is great for seniors. We only had a short time so we just experienced the 'Walk into the Movie' activity, but we'll definitely come back if we get the chance. The breakfast was plentiful, and the landlady was absolutely lovely, interacting with the kids so genuinely. A movie my friend invested in just started shooting, so we brought the little ones to join in the fun and get a taste of the filming atmosphere.

A very pleasant stay. The rooms and hallways were beautifully designed in a Republic of China style, and the furniture, flooring, woodwork, and mosaics were all crafted to a high standard, giving a really luxurious feel. Besides being aesthetically pleasing, the facilities were also complete and well-equipped. Stepping out, you're right into the vibrant, lively Guangzhou street, reminiscent of the late Qing and early Republic eras – it's a fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Hotel is inside the attraction so it is very convenient to explore the whole area anytime you want. Although it a distance away from the reception, there is a shuttle service to bring you there so you do not have to worry about dragging the luggage all the way there. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. There are a number of food and beverage options within the attraction too.

Traveling with my wife during the off-season, though it wasn't packed, the hotel still had a good number of guests. The price was surprisingly low for the excellent service provided by both the hotel and the scenic spots. The value for money was, if not the absolute best we've ever experienced in our many years of traveling together, certainly among the top few. The room pictured cost just over 300 RMB and included two very generous breakfasts. The attractions open at 8:30 AM, and breakfast is served until 10:00 AM, priced at only 38 RMB per person. Yet, the selection of dishes rivals those found in hundred-yuan, N-star hotel buffets, clearly designed to offer a special and hearty welcome meal for early bird visitors. From the moment we checked in for our three-day, two-night stay, all the staff members, including those participating in performances like "the landlady," were incredibly sincere and had fantastic attitudes. Even the film crews we occasionally encountered were polite and very considerate. Staying at the hotel also gave us discounted access to a bundle of five major scenic areas, each with its own unique charm: * **Qin Palace** isn't huge, but the shows are rich in content, so it's good to plan your time well. * **Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival** and **Ming and Qing Dynasties Palace Garden** are quite extensive, so renting their electric carts is recommended, especially for the Ming and Qing Dynasties Palace Garden. The rental fee isn't expensive, only a little over 100 RMB for a whole day during the off-season, and a small cart seats two adults and two children – definitely worth it! 👍 * Shows like "A Dream of Bianliang" and "Hello, Li Qingzhao" at Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival, and "Princess's Grand Wedding" at Ming and Qing Dynasties Palace Garden are all excellent performances not to be missed. Unfortunately, the "Iron Flower Smelting" show at Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival clashed with the "Torrential Rain and Mountain Flood" show at Dream Valley, so we missed the former. But the "Torrential Rain and Mountain Flood" is truly an unmissable spectacle. As for the scenic area where we stayed – "**Guangzhou Street • Hong Kong Street**" – it's a wonderful place with beautiful scenery morning and night, around the clock. Staying within this area truly allowed us to fully enjoy our trip! Fantastic! Fantastic, fantastic! Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic! Six six endless ≈ six thumbs up ≈ endless fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!

The house keeping Xiao xiao and team is very responsive. Very prompt to answer questions and arrangements such as buggy to pickup and send to and fro from the room to the entrance. The setup is a reconstruction of the colonial treaty port era of the mid-19th to early 20th century, with a focus on the 1920s and 1930s. If you fancy this vintage experience, it's a lovely time spent. I love every single detail like the antique phone, Art Nouveau and shabby chic style room decor. It is an experience of time travel back to the era and the room package includes a costume for a day for full immersion. The staff like the cleaners and the street food vendors were so friendly and polite. My best experience throughout the stay 🩷🫶 Thank you.
