The desk clerk was lovely, very welcoming and pleasant. The room was shabby, outdated and worn out. The mattress was lumpy, the shower was not ADA accessible and the bathroom looked dirty.
The pool seemed to have a film on top of the water and the breakfast was just okay at best. The term "you get what you pay for" was very true in this case, as the price was very reasonable.

The yard and surroundings were full of litter, none of beds on first floor facing side walk were made, stains and dirt on hall carpet, sticky material on the floor of our room, too many areas of broken off trim.
Clean sheets and towels were appreciated.

The only good point is it’s located across from Kings Dominion. Too many bad points: no shuttle, lack of breakfast, pool needs remodeling, customer service needs training, beds are uncomfortable and the pictures doesn’t match the hotel

Check in was simple and easy, the front desk attendant was very helpful and kind. The overall feeling of the hotel is clean and comfort just need some updating to interior but no complaints

I was very disappointed. We specifically asked if the pool was open and ready to use and we were told yes. The heater to the pool room nor the pool was on. It was very very cold. The box springs were sticking out on the sides of of both beds. Our bathroom sink was full of cracks not pleasant to the eye. There was a deposit not disclosed at time of reserving nor checking in. The continental breakfast was a normal breakfast. The tables were not cleaned once others were finished and the food was not refilled in a timely matter. I have stayed at other La Quintas and this was not up to their standards.

The hotel itself was pretty nice and clean, but our bedrooms futon was not. When we pulled it out, there was cheese and crumbs all over the mattress and we couldn’t use it. We did not inform staff, because it was midnight when we found out and we just wanted to sleep. The front desk staff was very nice, but they neglected to tell us there was a $50 deposit before charging it. And the website said there was a shuttle to Kings Dominion provided, but there was no shuttle. That was the main reason we chose to stay here. Also, we requested a crib when we booked, for our toddler, but they had none available.

The space in the room was nice, but there was no hot tub as shown, the pool was filthy and totally unusable, outlets in our room were loose and couldn’t be used, the bathroom lock didn’t work, and there was a dead bug in the shower stuck to the shower curtain. The toilet got clogged and I went to the front desk and he gaveme a plunger to fix it… if I could have afforded to rent a different hotel, I would have
