We booked two rooms for a week stay at this Conrad, and on check in was told that the two rooms had to be separated by two other rooms. The hotel then checked in another family with babies between our two rooms, who cried all night and kept us awake all night due to poor sound proofing. After we raised the issue, nothing was done until the family checked out after the third night. The hotel then checked in another family with two young boys, who woke up early and was being very hyper before 7am. Again, nothing was done other than asking us to move rooms. The final straw came, when the hotel checked in another family with a baby, who cried during the nights, between our two rooms. The duty manager, Matthew, was trying to be helpful but the senior management apparently took the view that the hotel is not at fault in ignoring my plea not to insert any more families between our two rooms and therefore will not offer refund for the sleepless nights we had to ensure staying at a Conrad, which is shocking! Another duty manager, Silvia Romanazzo, who was the first person I asked, instead of accepting responsibility for not taking note of our complaint in the first place, tried to offer pathetic excuses and put fault on us for not wanting to switch rooms! The hotel is located way off the centre of Dubai and has little to offer in terms of F&B, the breakfast is terrible and the wine bar has no staff (nor customers). The only decent eatery is the steak house, which does not belong to the hotel. The fixtures in the rooms are literally falling apart and the bathroom smells due to some plumbing issues. But most of all, the attitude of the management towards the customers who had to endure poor sleep explains why this hotel does not even deserve a 4 star rating, let alone 5 star!
