I'm not sure how this hotel has got a 4.5! I've stayed at other hotels where the rooms are better than this. Given their are several amenities on top of the room, yes, but the main thing is the room itself, which hugely disappoints! Few points below:
1. Extortionate prices unless you hit a good deal/pre-book. My review star rating didn't reflect this, but worth noting, if you're paying a lot you expect a lot.
2. Room itself is at best, average. Unclean, dusty, yellow stains on bed, not hoovered and clearly an old hotel that hasn't been renovated in a while.
3. Other Movenpicks I've stayed at are much better, this is supposed to be Dubai, super disappointed and not at all as expected.
4. Service is also average, I didn't get a smile or decent welcome at all. Very robotic.
5. I've included some photos but not too many as they were taken quickly.
6. To be fair, it's not bad, but it's not good either.. if a better service was provided, despite all of the above I would have added at least another star.
Overall, I wouldn't book a Movenpick again after this experience, nowadays other hotels are doing a much better job than these big hotels. I stayed in several less-known hotels in a "less-developed" country just prior to this one and they were all way better than this Movenpick.
