Stayed here from June 11-12/23 when I first came back to Dublin since I was last here in 2016. This place is located on the north side of O’Connell Bridge and half block west which was so convenient for getting to places, even walking distance to numerous popular attractions and catching the HOHO bus only a few blocks north on O’Connell street. One place I went was EPIC: the Irish emigration museum, which is only a 6-7 minute walk east and when I spoke with the reception folks some of them never heard of this place which I think is because they were new to the hostel and maybe they were not from Dublin but they seemed interested in going to this place which I actually enjoyed visiting. The place was fairly clean, reception was big with 3-4 people during the day to help you, so when I checked-in it was fast and simple which they gave me a room card key and the wifi log-in details were posted on a chalkboard in the reception lobby area, the door to the stairwell is locked for security, and the stairs had colorful artistic pictures of musicians, African animals and even Nelson Mandela which I really liked. My room was on the third floor and was a 10-bed dorm room, the room was decent and clean and you had to use the key card provided to get into your room, as well as the secure door to get into the stairwell to get to the basement and your rooms you had to scan your card. Each floor had several small bathrooms and a shower room with a sink and such. In the basement there was a big cafeteria style seating area and an industrial type kitchen area. At the far end of the café area in a small garden style seating area and storage area for bags as well. You go through another door to go for breakfast which there’s signs pointing the way to breakfast. Breakfast was actually decent though it is mostly cold items meat, cheese, cereals, bread, boiled eggs, oranges, coffee and juices. I am curious on who is actually responding to these reviews because I took a look at the reviews from before I stayed here and I noticed that at the top it says a Sonya O'Dolan, General Manager then at the end of the response it says Kind Regards, Dezirae, Reception Manager. Overall, I really liked this hostel and would stay here again if I am ever in Dublin again. 4.5 of 5 for food choice and quality 5 of 5 for location 4.5 of 5 for security and safety 4.75 of 5 overall

CHECK ALL TRANSACTIONS CAREFULLY WITH THIS BUSINESS On 13/05/23 I made an online booking with Abbey Court hostel Dublin through their website, for a 1 night stay for myself only for 15/03/24. (10 Months in advance) Upon my arrival on 15/03/24 at hostel reception I told the girl my name, and that I had a booking for 1 person for 1 night. I had my reservation number on a screenshot incase the girl asked for it. She didn't. She asked me for my name, photographic ID and email to confirm my booking. She asked for my name and email and I asked her could I pay in cash, Which I did. Then next day,16/03/24 I was charged again, 83 euros through my Bank account. I have been in touch with accommodation through telephone (2 minutes conversation and still waiting on a call back as they said) and email and they refuse my request for a refund of one of the double charge payments. They say I made a new booking upon arrival, which is untrue and ridiculous. Why would I make a new booking when I had one ? Why did my booking not come up on your computer system when I gave my details and ID ? Why would I turn up in Dublin on St Patrick's weekend without a booking? They have ignored my last emails. They stole from me and I won't rest till I have my €83 back. Manager of Morgan Hotel, don't bother replying.

I discovered Abbey Hostel by chance 6 months ago. While in Dublin to meet friends who unfortunately could not host me that weekend and all the city centre hotel being out of my budget. This fabulous hostel suits all budgets. Check out there website for all prices. Please keep in mind I had never stayed in a hostel in my life, I was always a hotel person. From the minute I walked in, I found the place to be clean, bright & airy. The staff, each and everyone of them were welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable of the city. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. My tip is always book directly through their own website and not tru that other one that we all know. Will definitely be back again. Kind Regards Noel Room 15 Bunk 4 11/02/24.

Hosts are all super friendly. I participated in the music bingo night this week with Sweet Caroline and it was a lot of fun. Will definitely stay here again if I ever come back. Facility is also very clean, with almost every amenity you could ask for in a hostel. The other people are also very friendly and easy to get along with.

Wouldn't stay here again. £80/night for a shoebox room with hobbit-sized squeaky bed, paper-thin walls and a bright green exit light to keep you awake all night. Location decent but there's plenty around Dublin in equally-good or better locations. Everything smelt like cleaning products - promising for cleanliness levels, but also the fumes give you a headache after a while! No storage or hooks in bathroom so towels had to be stored on the floor or in the sink...

I went on my own to Dublin for the weekend and the abbey court, although having great amenities had the worst rooms and overall organization I’ve seen at a hostel. The first night I was sexually harassed being placed into a room with 5 men, although the manager did try to rectify that- they placed me into a room with 8 men and the bed I was given as a replacement had someone sleeping in it. When I brought this up at the desk* not the same manager* they said that these things just happen. I had to book an emergency hostel at the Generator Dublin hostel, was not given a refund from abbey- but was treated much better at the new hostel with complimentary drinks and a thoroughly clean room with a bed that hadn’t been slept in or was currently occupied. Would not go back to abbey court or recommend if you’re a solo female traveller. They cater to partying groups of men

Very nice for a hostel. The staff was very friendly an Troy (?) was so nice to help me when my suitcase would not open. A bit noisy. Good breakfast. Central placed i Dublin. The rooms are a bit small, but clean and no bedbugs.
