Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain

Every summer, I come to Mount Qingcheng, and I've pretty much stayed at all the famous hotels and guesthouses here, with Six Senses being the only one left. So I decided to stay for a night. The reason I waited so long to try Six Senses is because of the mixed reviews online – some praise it to the heavens, others tear it down, making me hesitant to spend money unnecessarily. However, since I've practically stayed everywhere else, I finally gave in to the urge to check out Six Senses! Let me start with the conclusion: the experience was truly disappointing, even a huge letdown! Why? First, its location right next to the Qingcheng Mountain High-Speed Rail Station means there's no sense of secluded retreat at all, which completely undermines the Six Senses brand's reputation for seclusion. Upon entering, it felt hot and stuffy everywhere, not cool at all. This is because the vegetation around the hotel is too sparse, and the trees aren't lush, causing the ground to be scorched. It felt like I had entered a farmhouse guesthouse in Qingcheng Mountain town, completely lacking the ethereal charm of Mount Qingcheng. Moreover, the hotel doesn't have large water features, further diminishing any sense of vibrancy! To put it bluntly, it's not even as good as the adjacent Howard Johnson Qingcheng, which has an earthy charm that makes you feel refreshed and peaceful as soon as you enter. Furthermore, the overall design of the hotel is terribly poor; it's a maze with no clear hierarchy or aesthetic appeal. The room design is even worse, truly embodying the 'upscale farmhouse' aesthetic – neither ancient nor modern, neither rustic nor sophisticated. The interior space of the room is partitioned into small compartments, the lighting is dim, and the balcony is incredibly tiny and mosquito-ridden, making it impossible to relax and enjoy a vacation! The flow within the room is chaotic; the minibar and fridge are placed next to the bed, and when you want to turn off the lights for sleep, you can't find the switch, having to get up and go to the sofa to turn it off. The fan is impossible to turn off easily, and there are hardly any power outlets for phones and laptops! I don't know which designer came up with this anti-human design; it's as if they deliberately made guests uncomfortable! What's even more ridiculous is that the king room and garden room are designed with one above the other, making it easy to see people downstairs from upstairs! Is this to make it convenient for neighbors to visit? It's so 'down-to-earth' that it feels like living in a residential complex! Where's the vacation feeling in that? In short, the stay was very unpleasant. The room wasn't spacious enough, nor was it cozy! You couldn't comfortably lie down or sit up! The room design of Six Senses lacks the grandeur of Qingcheng Songpin, the style of Zuowang Senlin, the ethereal quality of Qingxia Shanju, and the层次感 (sense of layering) of Qingcheng Mountain Resort! However, Six Senses does have its merits, primarily its excellent service. Before check-in, they call to confirm, and after check-in, a butler contacts you, sending various reminders throughout your stay and assisting with booking complimentary services within the hotel. If anything is needed in the room, just ask, and it's delivered immediately. This aspect was quite satisfactory; the service can be said to be the best among all hotels in Qingcheng Mountain, and this alone lives up to the Six Senses brand. Also, the breakfast variety is quite rich and of good quality; the yogurt is homemade by the hotel, and the cherry tomatoes are homegrown. The only inconvenience is having to run up and down between floors in the restaurant to get food! To summarize, Six Senses is worth at most 1,000 yuan per night. Such a high room rate is simply overpriced and a rip-off. Staying there a second time would be a complete waste of money!

The park was already filled with the fragrant scent of osmanthus flowers; a stroll through the grounds offered wafts of its delightful aroma. The hotel's decor predominantly uses yellow and green hues. Yannie was incredibly enthusiastic, and the service provided during our stay was prompt and attentive! We enjoyed a quiet, relaxing, and happy holiday here.

Overall, the environment is quite good, and the staff are quick with pickups and drop-offs. However, check-in felt a bit chaotic, possibly because it was a busy time with many people. I had to queue for check-in, and I feel that this type of hotel should still prioritize the check-in experience. I even got several mosquito bites at the front desk. Also, the bathtub in the room leaks constantly when trying to fill it, so it never fills up, which is a waste of water and not environmentally friendly – I hope they improve this. There are many cabinets in the room, but the tea set for brewing should really be replaced with a gaiwan and smaller cups.

My stay at Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain was a truly 'hands-off' vacation experience, and I have to especially commend their butler service – it's all about the exquisite details. * **Attentive Private Butler:** My butler, Kevin, proactively contacted me even before check-in, sharing activity schedules and helpful tips. During my stay, he was incredibly responsive and accommodating, handling everything from booking activities to arranging electric car transfers perfectly. He also readily helped coordinate a late check-out. * **Thoughtful and Detailed Care:** The mini-bar was restocked daily with complimentary fresh fruit, room tidying was prompt, and extra requests were fulfilled quickly. * **Rich and Diverse Facilities:** The hotel boasts a well-equipped gym and a super relaxing organic farm, perfect for enjoying rustic charm. * **Amazing Farm-to-Table Breakfast:** The breakfast ingredients were incredibly fresh, and I could savor authentic Sichuan local snacks. The noodle station was particularly excellent. * **Excellent Location:** The hotel is situated right at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain. A shuttle bus is available on the side of the hotel, providing direct access to the tourist center, making it super convenient to get to the scenic area. In short, if you're looking for a place in Qingcheng Mountain where you can enjoy top-tier service, get close to nature, and truly relax, Six Senses Hotel is definitely worth experiencing!

As the only Six Senses in China, the ambiance and discreet yet attentive service are commendable, but the overall experience fell short of expectations. The facilities are somewhat dated and maintenance is average, with some areas showing signs of mildew. For a courtyard room costing over 4000 a night, the private hot spring pool hadn't been cleaned before check-in. After filling it, the water surface was covered with numerous insect carcasses, including snails and spiders, making it completely unusable. Given the high price point, there's significant room for improvement in both the hardware and hygiene.

An excellent stay! The hotel's ambiance is stunning, with every corner being picture-perfect. The service was great overall, but the only minor issue was that staff from different departments weren't very familiar with each other's procedures. One shuttle driver was a bit unfriendly, which slightly dampened the overall experience. However, breakfast was fantastic! Every dish was delicious, especially the bread – it was incredibly tasty.

The hotel was incredibly comfortable, and I slept wonderfully. It was very quiet, and the air was fresh and pleasant. The hotel service was absolutely outstanding; every request was met. A big thanks to our butler, Kevin, for his thoughtful service. He checked in with us every day to see if we had a good rest, and he even mailed my kettle back to me after I left it at the hotel. I'll definitely be staying here again.

The environment is elegant, and the service is excellent. The breakfast selection is very healthy. I was particularly impressed by the vegetable garden. If you're not in a hurry, it's worth staying a few extra days. It's a great place to relax, clear your mind, and cultivate your well-being.

Yannie provided excellent service, was very responsive to all my questions, and paid attention to every detail. I was completely satisfied with the service throughout my stay! The room I was given was quiet and well-located. The air here is fresh, and there are lots of green plants and bamboo, which is very pleasant to look at. I'll definitely be coming back again!
