One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! The scenery is incredible, and the RV is excellent — with more than enough electricity provided. The staff are extremely helpful and always respond promptly. They also offer a convenient airport pickup service.

Before the trip, Xiao Tian chatted with us via WeChat to ensure we get our desired room and choice of dinner menu. She then created a group chat with other service members, to ensure that all our requests and needs prior and during the stay are met. The service was really great. We changed our airport transfer to a dropoff to another hotel in Dunhuang city. We were upgraded to a tent and the facility was great. Room was exactly as shown on Trip. Plenty of water was provided in the room, which was convenient. We were there during low season and there were only a few guests, and it felt like we had the entire desert to ourselves and it was great to walk around and take photos.

This stay is the highlight of our Silk Road trip. Some reviewers mention dirt, well, that's to be expected for a location in the desert. It's the experience of staying overnight in the desert. Having the view without the crowds that make this hotel highly unusual and amazing for those of us who wanted the uniqueness of it. I would love to come back one day to see the stars as this time we stayed during full moon. Love it.

For our first night in Dunhuang, we definitely opted for a desert stay (Dunhuang Shazhou Wild Luxury Camp Hotel). For the second night, however, we needed something a little less rugged. Staying in the desert means sand everywhere, constantly – on your head, on your face, even packed into your ears! But the kids absolutely loved playing in the sand; they could spend the entire day there, even under the blazing sun. Be sure to apply plenty of sun protection; the desert sun is incredibly intense. Guesthouses are better than regular star hotels because star hotels have high foot traffic, and it's important to be mindful of protection against common illnesses like flu and respiratory infections. So, we completely skipped the Huaxia, Guoji, Tianhe, and Shazhou hotels in the city center. If your budget is tight, the Mumei Kachi Desert Camping Base is also a viable option, though it's not actually at Mingsha Mountain. If you're staying a third day in Dunhuang, you might consider some of the larger, standard hotels in the city center that have swimming pools. Also, the Sheraton in the city center is a stripped-down Four Points by Sheraton, and it doesn't have a pool.

This was, without a doubt, the kids' favorite place we stayed on our trip! You can step right out of your room to go sandboarding, and the evening sunsets were absolutely breathtaking. We're very grateful to our host who, noticing we had several children, kindly upgraded our tent.

Facilities: For a family trip, the in-room facilities were absolutely impeccable. Environment: The campsite, nestled deep in the heart of the desert, was truly stunning. My child even got to experience a sandstorm up close for the first time, which was quite an exciting novelty! Our butler promptly delivered sandboards, allowing the kids to freely enjoy sandboarding to their heart's content. Service: The highly personalized service from our dedicated butler team was exceptional. Every issue we brought up was immediately addressed and resolved.

Having exclusive access to the dunes was a lot of fun. Each villa even comes with a sandboard right outside, so you can easily go sandboarding on your own. The kids absolutely loved it! However, the location isn't particularly convenient, as it's quite a distance from the city center and other hotels. Guests also need to park their car directly outside their accommodation. This place is definitely best suited for those traveling by car.

What a delightful retreat in the desert! I absolutely loved the experience. Both the dinner and service at the hotel were excellent, and for the price, it offers truly fantastic value for money. Absolutely loved it!

My wife and I visited, and I was genuinely amazed by the absolutely stunning environment here! This is an absolute must-visit if you're looking to capture breathtaking landscape photos. They boast a private desert area that is easily as vast as Mingsha Mountain. Whether for portraits or scenic shots, you're guaranteed to get fantastic results.

The accommodation was quite unique, and butler service was a nice touch. For those driving, cars are parked in a dedicated lot, and shuttles provide transportation within the scenic area. You can go sandboarding and enjoy dune buggy rides. Best of all, you can play in the sand right outside your room!

Our children had an amazing time! Butler Xiao Jie was incredibly patient and enthusiastic. Highly recommend!

The RV was spacious and comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed the desert wilderness. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Our butler reached out in advance to confirm all the arrangements, and an airport drop-off service was also provided. The restaurant breakfast was decent.

The room was lovely, well-equipped, and had a unique charm. The views were fantastic, and you could even see the stars at night. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, from reception right through to service. We were very satisfied.

We received a free room upgrade upon arrival. I feel that this type of place is really only suitable for a one-night experience. If you were to stay for a few days, I imagine it would be quite inconvenient and a bit of a hassle.
