Stayed 2 nights in a supposed twin room, which I think they upgraded us to a family room that had a bathtub :D location is 2 mins walk from the town hall with lots of resturant around & 10 mins from railway station. Very friendly staff who greets you every morning. Didn’t have breakfast included but the meal deal was pretty attractive (2 course meal + breakfast + drink for £24.99) so my friend and I decided to go for breakfast next morning (£9.90 for unlimited cooked + continental). Love the energy of the staffs :D

On arrival for checking , due to staff change over check in didn’t run smoothly, as we were due to attend a private party at 3pm we tried to check in early as advised the previous day we could .(friends did check in after us and didn’t have to pay ) between 2 staff staff on front desk they stated they were available then they weren’t . After 20 minutes we decided to get changed and leave bags in the office .as stated before we were due to attend a party at 3 pm so i decided to try again as wasn’t happy leaving my bag. this time i was successful and still charged early check in and it was 2:45pm. Room was clean and tidy , bed and pillows were really comfy , and had all amenities required. Following morning we went for breakfast and it was a farce , there was only a few people in the restaurant so no mad rush before we got there , there was very little to choose from they were replenishing the cooked breakfast however when they brought food out it was very little so people behind had to wait , looked like only a tin of beans had been opened and a couple of sausages done at a time , there was no orange juice as it ran out , lattes and cappuccinos also ran out took 20 mins to fix and to top it off there was a hair in my fiancés breakfast ( see image attached )

For this codger, it was simply Heaven. Easy to locate. Easy to navigate the myriad twists and turns and shortcuts (with lots of steps!). Spoiled for choice with so many excellent cafes and restaurants. A block this way, and on the River path. A few blocks that way, and up to the Cathedral, with St. Cuthbert. A winding path back down, and pop into the Riverview Kitchen. Sarah, Allison, and Colleen made it feel like home.

The restaurants closed for refurbishment so there is complimentary coffee, fruit & pastries. Lovely touch Premier Inn!! It would have been 5* but the WIFI is so bad I’ve had to tether off of my phone all week which has been a lot faster!! I know there’s a WIFI upgrade but basic WiFi should still be reasonable especially on the ground floor close to reception (it’s not like I’m on the top floor). Otherwise, great location and friendly staff.

Cold room, no bar no restaurant, expensive vending machine, really shocking complementary breakfast, not many staff members around, milk sour in rooms, only 2 bottles of water for 2 people from Friday to Sunday! Floors were dirty.

The staff (Allison & a guy- forgot his name) were so helpful to me & my 2 sisters on arrival. Helped us check in on the machine & then changed a room so we could be near one another without us asking. So very thoughtful. Also made us aware they would be there all night if we needed any help. The rooms were brilliant. Felt newly decorated/ refurbished. Decor was nice & the shower was very big & so so clean. We had rooms 303 & 305. The bed nice & comfortable too.
