The Belgrave Hotel Tenby

Convenient location, it’s just a few minutes walking distance from the train station. The hotel is at the sea, some of the rooms have sea view. The city center is also a few minutes walk away from the hotel. Room was pleasant even not much space to use, bathroom was small. They offer breakfast for £10 if needed, and they have a nice lobby/bar area to sit down and enjoy the view.

Friendly staff, clean and good location by beach

Rooms are very dated and in desperate need of updating. Wallpaper coming off the walls & carpets all stained. Double bed had a huge dip in the middle (obviously springs had gone) so could not have a comfortable nights sleep. Was told when booking they would cater for competitors of Long Course Meet but on check in was told completely different. We said “oh don’t worry as long as we can have banana and toast that’ll be fine” but the reply was “we don’t have fruit” so we purchased our own from the supermarket around the corner. On the plus side- the beds were clean.

Stayed here for 1 night last month via Airbnb platform. The Airbnb listing showed a spacious sea view double room with two sitting chairs beside window. On arrival I was allocated Room 311. The room was a cramped double room without any sitting chairs. The only way to enjoy the sea view was by sitting on the bed. I returned to reception and complained that the room was nothing like the room advertised on Airbnb. The lady receptionist got very flustered and then the Manager(?) and his sidekick who had been loitering nearby got involved. The Manager told me that the misrepresentation was nothing to do with him or the Belgravia hotel!! I was offered Room 303 as an alternative. Room 303 was even worse and included a totally broken sill on the only opening window. I returned to reception and was offered Room 404. Room 404 had a new window but the sea view was obstructed by a 4ft high solid concrete wall. All three of the room offered were airless & horribly humid because of the window problems. Room 311 had a bath but the restricted hot water flow would have taken many hours to fill. Wifi is very poor/non-existent. There was no possibility of hearing the sound of waves lapping on the beach because of the constant yapping & barking of the many dogs on the beach beneath the Belgravia. Luckily I was using up an Airbnb credit which they had retained for a prolonged period so the overnight trip cost me £7. This was still excessive for the quality of the accommodation!
