Blue Lagoon Hotel and Conference Centre

The hotel is beautiful. General areas could do with a little bit of extra care. The room cleanliness was intermittent, overall good. Reception service was exemplary. With the following issue, I am not blaming security as I believe they had a colossal problem on their hands. I fear that the hotel is going to suffer future reputable losses if it continues on the status quo of not having a measure in place to deal with delinquents. There was a group of people that came in quantum taxis that made noise the whole night. I was woken up at 12am to people outside my room, thereafter at 4am to a man talking loudly outside my room situated in a Ladies only section that didn’t have the keypad working. This drunk man came back at around 5:30am to continue his loud utterances outside my room. Even though I was fearing for my safety, I called security, and I opened the door, only after taking a video of him did his utterances stop, but he still continued to smoke outside my room. A few minutes later he left, and security came to check up on me. I appreciate that, but this is a breach of trust that such a beautiful establishment will keep me safe. This group was an ongoing problem the whole night, why wasn’t entry revoked from them, due to the public disturbance? There was littering of alcoholic beverages on the grass. Once again, Im shocked that the establishment does not have a policy in place to deal with this.

I received an excellent service at Blue Lagoon while staying here for 3-nights for a workshop. The overall staff (cleaning, cook, reception & restaurant hosts) were very professional. I enjoyed my stay.

We had a great stay at Blue Lagoon Hotel, thank you to the staff for making it exceptionally great. We will definitely visit again and we will re commend to other people. Great location and nice views

My husband and I were excited for this trip but it was completely ruined. We booked the Queen room which stayed that it was soundproof. This was the main reason we chose the room and my husband had been there before so he knew the place. On Arrival, we were given a standard room and told they were the same with the Queen room. We asked why we would be charged more if the rooms were the same and then we were told the queen rooms were fully booked. The room we got was not sound proof and we had a terrible night due to the noise from adjacent rooms, it was as though they were right in our room with us. We had a terrible night and could not wait to leave in the morning. We should have done our research and not trusted what the a hotel says about itself. Sadly, I cannot recommend it to any of my friends and I will not be coming back

The overall service and outlook are great. I always enjoy visiting and staying at the hotel. The hotel staff is friendly & smart. However, some rooms need new irons, and some doors new locks. Thanks!!

We recently stayed for a weekend in East London, and having stayed at Blue Lagoon before we decided to stay again. It will certainly be our last time staying there. Room was in a terrible state of disrepair. Paint peeling off the walls in the bedroom and bathroom. The reception and admin staff were shockingly poor. From our room key not working multiple times, to being accused of not paying for our breakfast because staff failed to ring up our bill, to the hotel bar turning into a full-on nightclub in the evenings, this was a terrible experience - made all the worse considering how expensive it is to stay. Find alternatives if you can…

I travel a lot for work purposes and have never felt the independent need to write a review on any of the usually 3- or 4- star hotels I reside at. After four stays at the Blue Lagoon, I decided I could not ignore the need to publicly congratulate the managmenet and staff and to say that, taking everything into account, the Blue Lagoon is the BEST value for money hotel I have ever stayed at in my 72 years - yes, I am 72 and have worked since I was 23. The venue - at the mouth of the Nahoon at the Indian Ocean - is supreme! The beautiful peaceful and secure beach and safe swimming areas, the picture perfect setting between the hills and the sea and the protected areas out of the wind are exceptional. The food and general catering, pub facilities and service are consistently excellent - from perfect roasts to scrumptious seafood salads, as well as a huge and varied breakfast selection. The unique-to-East London-hotels coffee blend, Miko, which they serve, is also something to savour. The premises are very well secured, especially at night. The accommodation in the rooms and suites I have stayed in are well appointed, everything works and maintained daily to a high standard. I once had an issue with wi-fi reception and it was immediately attended to. The ultimate in service for me was when I had left my vehicle lights on overnight, leaving the battery flat. I only discovered that the next morning when I was on the verge of leaving for an important appointment with no time for mishaps. I went to reception to ask for help. The assistant there was attentive and within minutes the Head Chef and other staff members came to my rescue. They were all extremely sympathetic and not once did I get the feeling that they were irritated by having to leave their workplaces to help an old lady who was so stupid to leave her lights on. I just want to stress that I am an entirely independent, honest reviewer, who has no association with the hotel or any of its staff at all. I am simply genuinely impressed with a level of service that one rarely encounters in South Africa today - especially in hotels. Blue Lagoon - the best hotel in South Africa!

the beach was very nice But not good for swimming The Pool wasnt very clean and There Are no cushions for pool loungers so it isnt very comfortable It is very quiet around the hotel There is no atm Its a nice hotel for a Short Trip I would Like to Book it again

The location is wonderful, the staff is friendly from the reception to the security, cleaners and always willing and ready to assist, the breakfast was phenomenal and our apartment had exceptional views.
