Our grounds are home to a variety of wildlife, flora and fauna and we are visited by many migratory species throughout the year, but the most popular is a colony of rare Red Squirrels who are often spotted entertaining our guests on our woodland trail up to the B listed original Shap Well dated from 1836.On a clear night, due to low light pollution our location is ideal for star-gazing and the tranquil setting is further complemented by the babbling brooks, streams & waterfalls which run around the property.Inside the hotel you will find traditional décor, spacious and comfortable lounges, log fires, free wifi and good old-fashioned hospitality on offer.Food is available from breakfast to bedtime with a variety of menus operating throughout the day, and the Riverside Bar which is stocked with a wide range of beverages and draught beers.The hotel boasts 108 comfortable and spacious bedrooms including family rooms.  Pet friendly rooms are also available for a small supplement fee and well-behaved pets are welcome in the lounge areas & our Fell dining room.The hotel has a games room which is equipped with a full-size snooker table, pool table, table tennis, darts & a small gymnasium, a range of board games & activities are available from Reception.
