Absolute perfection! Staying here is the best decision anyone could make. It is amazing how well the property has been brought back from the 2 cyclones just 8 weeks ago and all credit due to the staff and management. Loved that this resort is 100% ni van owned and operated so you know your money is staying in the local community. The knowledge of Eric and Christine seems to have no limits and they are happy to share and teach. I have recommended Blue Bay to all my friends and family and will be back soon

This is a family run hotel and the only hotel in the city run by locals. The interior is basic but the view is gorgeous! Everyone was kind and treated me like family. LOVED Christine's nature walk where she showed me plant medicine, fruit and veg on the property was amazing as well. It feels like a very authentic experience. Wifi was good. You can hear the waves from your villa or watch the stars from outside. Lovely! I truly enjoyed my time but I probably wouldn't stay here again for two reasons: the property is quite remote and you have to pay for a ride into the city and the communication to pick up was sometimes delayed. I waited 2 hours for a ride one day- not great. Secondly, you also have no choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant if you have no car because everything else is so far away. Most dinner items are 2500 vatu (although my booking confirmation said 2000 vatu) and you only get a small amount of chicken or fish (delicious but I definitely expect a larger serving for 2500 vatu). Basically dinner is delicious but basic but a lot more expensive than at fancier resorts and restaurants in Port Vila. Value for money 5/10. Service 9/10. People and authenticity 10/10.

***BE WARNED** I booked this place 12 months in advance, expecting boutique luxury for the $2500 I paid for 8 nights. Instead what we were faced with was a 30 minute drive down a very isolated, bumpy dirt road to what can only be described as hostel conditions. While the bungalows are roomy, the TV did not work, the electrical wiring was dodgy and exposed above the toilet and we were unable to shower due to no hot water and a dribble of cold water from the tap. We stayed only 2 nights and were promised a refund for the time we did not stay. After many back and forth messages between Eric and I, he failed to ever refund my money. We left the accommodation on 2 July and it is now 25 August 2023. He has now been ignoring my messages and pleas since 9 August 2023. If you are ok with paying 5 star prices for hostel at best conditions with pricey food and expensive transfers into and out of town, go right ahead and book here. Otherwise, AVOID! I am not one to leave bad reviews but this man has had long enough and has broken every promise made. Shame on you, Eric.

I cancelled my booking with Blue Ray Resort within the free cancel period on Dec 2022, but the hotel still fully charged my credit card. This is very wrong, as normally they should hold the fund till the check-in day. Anyway, I contacted them early Jan 2023 for refunding. The Hotel manager Eric advised me the refund should be processed on 31/1/23. But till today 17/3/23, this is still not happening. I contacted them many times, but they simply ignored me. They are very dodgy & fishy. Donot trust them!

Clean enough but electricity and water were awful. We had two villas. The showers had almost no water coming out, and definitely no hot water. There were no lights in the main room of one villa. They'd been disconnected long ago. Instead they'd provided a table lamp, but the fitting was from a different country to the wall plug. They were unable to rectify this. But they did replace the kettle which also had a fitting from another country. A different country this time. One of the power points in the bedroom was broken and crackled alarmingly when a lamp was connected. The switches on the fans were broken off in some places. If you like bedrooms without doors this is the place for you! In summary this place is poorly maintained and best avoided. Bad value for price.

Cute little resort on the waters edge 15mins drive from town. Eric, Sala, Louise, Christine and the rest of the crew will help make your stay enjoyable and stress free. This resort is basic no bells or whistles but is lovely, quiet and the staff make it worth the stay. Breakfast was always fresh and tasty and rooms are clean with ocean views. A few things to note - menu is very limited (Keep in mind things can change the busier they get) - Tours do not pick up from this resort (Sala and his sons will make sure you get to the tours) - beach is rocky (a jetty or swimming platform would be a great addition)

Thank you to the staff at Blue Bay Resort for making our stay very enjoyable, educational and memorable. From the moment the smiling, friendly staff picked us up at midnight from the airport to the early morning drop-off, they went out of their way to welcome us and help us with arranging all of our outings. They had some very excellent tips for outing ideas that helped round out our trip and make it special. Also, the meals we ate there were delicious and well prepared. One of the highlights of our stay there was the nature walk/traditional meal that Christine, her granddaughter and "little chief" took us on and prepared for us. It was an amazing experience for us and our children to learn some of the local remedies and customs. The views were great from all the bungalows and there was good snorkeling/kayaking right in front of us.

If you want a laid back holiday spot this is it. There is no pool but the ocean is literally meters from the front door of your bungalow. There is WIFI available but if you want to be off grid this is the place. The staff are amazing and became like family after our 2 week stay. Nothing was too much bother. A big thanks goes to Eric and his amazing team.

This resort is owned and run by the locals and is about a 20 minute ride from town. Very peaceful and relaxing. Great location right on the water. Bungalows spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly. Christine looked after us very well. She took us on a nature walk pointing out the various fruits and plants that the local people use for medicinal purposes and also cooked us a traditional meal over an open fire. It was our wedding anniversary and Rosalie decorated our room with hearts and flowers.
