The most underrated camp in Kruger National Park. Best restaurant & accommodation. Food was exceptional! We stayed in a bungalow - clean, spacious with everything you need. Very friendly and helpfull staff.

We just stayed in Pretoriuskop Restcamp for 3 nights while visiting Kruger National Park. The accomodations were as advertised; a 2 star hotel. But if all you are looking for is a place to sleep while exploring and view the experience as a "cabin" type of accommodation then it's acceptable. There are bugs and/or lizards in the rooms (check your bed before getting in), the water pressure is dismal, and some of the doors don't lock. We lost power for a day and a half off and on. They purposely turned off the power overnight that had been running from a generator which meant we didn't have air conditioning for one night which wasn't ideal. Most of our party didn't mind though. The service at the fast food restaurant is not great but the food was okay. Everyone was very nice, including the staff in the store and the rangers. We stayed in the guest house area which had a building that was a common area with a kitchen and living room and then the sleeping quarters were solo buildings with two bedrooms and one bathroom in each. The location for game viewing was a great starting point. On our drives we saw a leopard right outside the gate as well as elephants. And we were able to quickly get to areas that had lions, zebras, rhinos, hippos, etc. I'm not sure if the rangers are assigned to specific camps but ours were great for our late evening drive and very early morning walk. We saw an aardvark which is unheard of. If you're fine with roughing it, then it's worth staying here. Just don't expect hotel amenities and upgraded rooms.

Good value for money. Lots of wildlife the area. Best swimming pool. Friendly staff Clean and neat accommodation. Rates per night are of the most affordable in the Kruger National Park. Would definitely visit again. Easy access from Hazy view

For a birder on their first visit to South Africa, a few days/nights in Kruger is a must, and an amazing experience. Our small birding group spent one night at Olifants Rest Camp and two at Pretoriuskop Rest Camp in September and were thrilled by the numbers of birds and mammals we saw. Of the two Rest Camps, the accommodations at Pretoriuskop were definitely better in my mind (the bungalows, although similar, just seemed more comfortable, brighter, cleaner, with a nicer outdoor area – and it is closer to the airport, if that matters). The big difference between the two is in the food department. Where Olifants has a wonderful restaurant facility, Pretoriuskop is basically fast food plus. It served its purpose for our visit, but may be an issue for some. Still, a visit to Kruger is all about the wildlife, not the food, and this is a great location for wildlife viewing.

Very basic round hut, with 2 single beds, a sink/cold tap and an electric socket. Quite a walk to the toilet/shower block - uneven ground- not easy at night! Toilets not very clean and untidy. The only food available was an awful Wimpy - only 1 non-meet option which was horrible, with under cooked chips and service incredibly slow. What a dreadful "restaurant" for the Kruger Park.

I had a one-night stay in a hut at this camp, as part of my organized safari tour to Kruger. The camp was very basic but pleasant, so as the hut itself. I did have some rustic charm. The amenities were very limited. There was a small shop. The only restaurant was Wimpy... It was alright as part of an organized tour. But I would prefer Skukuza.

Basic lodge where we stayed for one night in two rooms. These are State’s owned lodges and the service is good. Staff is good and responsive. However the facilities are very basic (eg there is not even a chair to drop your dresses nor an hanger) and in our daughter room you can see bat’s dropping (on the porch, not in the room). Air conditioning was working but rather noisy. But it is ok to stay for a night or two to visit the park. If you want something better you could go to Olifant lodge.

Spartan. Adequate, overpriced with communal facilities of a barracky nature but charming in its own way and after all we booked at four and were there at five with an early morning stroll for the animal kingdom. Room or rather bungalow door not sliding properly. Spacious room and aesthetically pleasing. Dark environs, underlit and the restaurant a Wimpy!!! A little universe for a purposful 'adventure'. The morning stroll was arduous in terms of the terrain. The winter flora was depressing and the fauna adequate for the willing to be easily enthused. Kruger is an industry with different lineages and penchants. Overcelebratedfor my odd poetic andurstanding

We stayed in various camps in and around Kruger National Park during our trip to South Afreica. Pretoriuskop was the second weakest. Not only were the huts in a mediocre state, they have only a relatively poor fast food restaurant. Also, our excursions from Pretoriuskop were relatively weak.
