An incredible experience. Luxurious accommodation, exceptional meals, and the staff pampered us. JV, our guide went above and beyond to ensure we maximised our safari experience. We saw the big 5. We would thoroughly recommend this Lodge to anyone planning on visiting this area.

Thank you for providing us and our children the trip of a lifetime. We have been spoilt with exceptional accommodation, excellent service and memories that will stay with us forever. Mama’s food has been filled with love and flavor than surpasses any Michelin Star restaurant. JV has filled our minds with his knowledge and shared his passion for this beautiful country.

We stayed at Simbavati Lodge for four nights this past week. Our stay was absolutely amazing! Our hostess, Audrey, and her staff were very attentive and worked hard to anticipate every need of their guests. This fabulous retreat is designed be very intimate and customized for each guest. It is not your average “hotel” stay. Every detail has been considered for the perfect ambiance no matter what time of day. You feel as though you are a guest in a luxurious home. Each meal was prepared to perfection, taking in special requests and needs. The safari guide, JV, was an expert at identifying, educating, and tracking local wildlife- large and small…. And witty! We would highly recommend simbavati lodge for your safari stay.

Simbavati Amani is a very special Safari lodge in the Klaserie region of South Africa. We had the pleasure of staying here for 4 nights and well looked after so well by Adri and Ian the Lodge Managers. We had a lovely homely welcome when we arrived. The lodge is very rustic and has a typically African feel. There is a water hole opposite the lodge where you can sit by the pool and watch the animals from your sun lounger. For the first two nights, we were the only guests so we felt incredibly spoilt. I think one of the biggest bonuses to this trip was our wonderful Safari guide JV. This man, was not only humorous and always immaculately presented. He knew everything about wildlife and how to track the wildlife. He was so knowledgeable, we learned so much in our 4 days with him. We saw the Big 5 and many more ! JV’s expertise was definitely the leopard - his favourite animal, and we were so fortunate to see this shy, beautiful creature many times. Our best times on the game drives was definitely the sundowners - J V always managed to take us to a beautiful spot to watch the Sun go down and sip gin and tonics. He really did make our trip. I know the owners of Amani have big plans for it over the coming year. A new villa on site and spa & much more. We did use the Camp George spa which was lovely and a short drive from our lodge. This camp is definitely great for a small group or a family with four double rooms. Big thank you to Adri, Ian , JV and Ombagani for making our four day Safari so very special. Hope to see you in the near future !

Our family group - 3 parents and 4 ‘children’ (14 to 20 years), spent 3 nights as the only guests here in early December 2024 - it was the first safari of our trip (and for all of us) and it set a very high standard. Excellent accommodation and food (at times perhaps too much) but of great quality and variety; very friendly staff; great location - when relaxing between game drives we would spend time in the pool overlooking the adjacent waterhole watching elephant herds, baboons, various antelope and lions visit. We were fortunate to have the superb Alex as our guide for all of our morning/evening drives and benefited immensely from his knowledge and experience - and saw more animals than we could have hoped.

Simbavati Amani… such an incredible place! From the elephants and giraffes greeting us at our backyard watering hole…to the delicious food, and amazing staff that always went above and beyond, and made us feel like family…to our safari drive guide who had so much enthusiasm and knowledge of the animals in the Bush that he made every day a new and incredible adventure. This was one of the most incredible trips we have ever been on!

Another couple, my wife and I, came to Simbavati Amani for a safari experience. We did a lot of research to come to the conclusion that Amani was the right choice. We were not disappointed. From the manager, guide, butler, and staff, they were all very professional, friendly, and helpful. The guide, JV, was very knowledgeable and informative on the animals, plants, and birds we were viewing. We were lucky to view more than just the big 5. We were quite satisfied with the entire experience and recommend Simbavati Amani to anyone looking for good food, friendly staff, and a great guide.

Luxurious accommodations. Very clean. First experience with a butler (Ishmael for 1 day & Bongani for 2 days) & a private chef (Terry for 1 day & Raphael for 2 days). Food was excellent. Service lacked minor attention to details. Twice daily Game drives exceeded our wish list expectations (can't get everything that you might want, but "close" is good enough). Winter season, pack a fleece, gloves, hats, gloves, scarf/neck gaiter, a wind breaker & sunglasses too. The only animals that we didn't see were Hippo (out of the water), Cheetah & Crocodiles.
