Have wanted to stay in this hotel for years. Interesting design in a cava vineyard was the attraction. The hotel delivered on that but it was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff there who make this hotel. It’s a very small hotel with a small staff which makes it feel intimate and homely despite its grandness. The staff are friendly, thoughtful and preemptive in their service in. A way I have only seen at Irish 5 star hotels before. Daniel on front desk was especially noteworthy for approach and professionalism.

Incredible boutique hotel. Everything here is of a high standard and superb quality. It deserves more than five stars. From the location, welcome refreshing cava, the ambience, the service, the food, beverages and accommodations, everything is superlative. I would like to acknowledge Josep, Daniel and Arianna at the reception for outstanding service. Also Ines and colleagues in the restaurant at dinner and the amazing staff at breakfast who go above and beyond to make guests' experience memorable. They have gluten-free (GF) bread at all meals and many GF choices; that is truly appreciated. Thank you for the excellent service! If you are in Vilafranca del Penedes, this is the place to stay!

For the money it is per night I really don’t get it. Yes it’s a quirky building but there is literally nothing to do around it and we weren’t allowed to enter the dining room unless we wanted 8 courses. If you wanted a couple of courses the only way to eat is in your room. I certainly would never book again. Couldn’t fault the staff but I just don’t understand why it’s 400 quid a night.

We visited this hotel on our way back home and it was absolutely wonderful. Very nice, helpful staff. Both diner and breakfast were delicious and of course the cava was also great. Spacious, modern room with a nice view over the vineyard. Would absolutely recommend this hotel!

Beautiful hotel with a unique design. The rooms to the back have the best views of the wine trees. Very professional and helpful staff who make you feel so welcome. We ate breakfast and lunch both were very good. The only problem for me were the stairs in the room.

We had an amazing three days here at Mastinell! Everything was first class from the stunning room to the fabulous, efficient staff! Oh, the food and the wine were wonderful also. We’re sorry to be leaving so soon, but we have to be on a yacht cruise this afternoon.

Cool architecture! Very, very accommodating staff. The food, both dinner and breakfast were excellent. We also did the winery tour (need to reserve in advance) which I'd highly recommend.

We recently had a delightful stay at the Cava & Hotel Mastinell. We arrived at the hotel following our overseas flight, and we were thrilled that we could access a room upon arrival to freshen up - often when I travel to Europe, the hotel does not allow access until 3 PM, even if rooms are available. The Hotel Mastinell was a great place to start our visit because the serene location was great to relax and get over the jet lag, while providing great sightseeing. We hiked around the property (miles of trails nearby) and visited several nearby vineyards. We opted to not rent a car, and the hotel was helpful arranging taxis and ground transport. The staff were great and friendly. We added the cava tour and tasting and Alex was an entertaining guide - a great addition to a visit. We dined twice at En Rima; once ala carte and once for the tasting menu. The restaurant was great at accommodating for allergies, and of course, the food was fantastic. We were drawn to the hotel for its unique architecture, and would recommend it to others.
