Booked room with the understanding they accepted esa animals as it states, and was charged fees that weren’t specifically for animals. It was an “additional family fee”. No other motels/hotels I was charged this fee especially with supporting esa documents. Also when leaving the motel early in the morning there was a homeless person climbing out of the window right next to the room I was staying at. Did not feel safe here at all, needs better security. Do not recommend

I enjoy the Thunderbird. I just need a place to crash when I have business in Elko. It's very inexpensive and that's what I like.

We stay here usually a couple times a year as it is a half way point on our drive to visit kids. Great place to stay away from the bustle. Clean, refinished rooms. The price is right.

We’ve stayed at the Thunderbird many times before when visiting Elko, NV and we’ve always had a pleasant stay. This time, Room 204 was disappointing. The bed spread was really stained; the bathroom sink light was failing; an electrical outlet was missing it’s cover plate; and the room had no smoke detector. I addressed these issues with the owner/manager and he assured me they’d be corrected. He’s a good man who runs a good operation, so I believe they’ll be repaired. Thunderbird is still a tremendous bargain and a very nice independent motel that is worthy of your business. We’ll be coming back.

Worst stay on our road trip so far on day 13. After we showered we noticed bugs probably roaches in the bathroom. We finished our night there and left pretty early. I would not recommend this hotel.
