Paraiso Guest House

My stay at Paraiso Guest House in Ella, Sri Lanka, was truly comfortable. The hosts went out of their way to be helpful, ensuring that all our needs were met with warmth and kindness. The breakfast served was good, offering a satisfying start to the day. However, the standout feature of Paraiso Guest House was undeniably the view. Waking up to such stunning scenery was an experience in itself and made the stay memorable.

Thank you Dhana and his family for a wonderful start to out first visit to Sri Lanka. A simple but stunning accomodation with eveything you need. Parasio is situated in a peaceful area out of town but is only a short walk from town along the railway lines. The daily breakfast was incredible and the views, sensational. Dhana help us see and do all we had planned Ella (including train ride, hikes and tasty meals) and also assisted us with transport. We would definitely stay here again.

This was probably our favourite place we stayed at on our three week tour of Sri Lanka! Great views, great room size. Very functional with regards a fridge, plenty of wall sockets for charging phones etc . Complimentary water. Great shower. The breakfast was simply delicious and set up in the dining room - some people ate on the pretty outdoor area. The selection of food and the taste was really special, especially the wee sweet coconut pancake rolls! Having said all that - even better was the family who own/run the place - they are all so warm and friendly - helpful with local knowledge and directions. Great english speakers (thankfully cause thats all we were able to speak!). They can give you a shortcut to the main 'town' area that makes it an easy walk. I cant speak highly enough about this place.

We loved our time at this guesthouse. I can't really add more to the positive reviews already posted. We had a room without aircon, and we didn't even need the fan as it was nice and cool in the evenings. The view faces east, so perfect for a sunrise. We sat on the terrace each afternoon to see the clouds dramatically changing through the hills. Breakfast was wonderful, sri lankan style breakfast that changed each day. Dhana was an excellent host, we used his taxi service to Tissa, and he arranged a few other things for us. This place is a little gem!

Paraiso Guesthouse is run by Dhana, a very friendly & helpful chap, & his wife. The place is located about a 10 min tuk tuk ride from Ella center, which is a developing backpacker tourist place. If you prefer, you can also walk along the train tracks nearby to Ella center - fairly safe, just be aware of the schedule & oncoming trains (not so frequent). Village setting with many friendly locals who will greet you as you pass them while walking. The room was clean with a absolutely stunning view. Air con, hot water for showers, TV (although we did not watch), wifi, bottles water, electric kettle - almost everything you would need. Breakfast was super yummy, prepared by his mum who lives a steps from the guesthouse - some of the best pol roti we had on the trip. Mum even helped us pack a small lunch for our train ride to Kandy. Super nice. Dhana picked is from airport to our Colombo hotel for a late check-in & drove us up the following morning (5-6 hour drive, excluding lunch where we spent an hour at Galle Fort) in his very comfortable car - very reasonable price. He even helped us arrange for car drop off from our Colombo hotel to the airport during the last leg of our trip. He arranged for a tour to various tourist places around Ella via tuk tuk - paid separately. In summary, Paraiso Guesthouse is definitely worth the stay for the view, the room, the yummy breakfast but more importantly, it is run by a very sincere, helpful friendly guy. Lovely cuppa with biscuits on arrival A very clean, spacious room - with decent storage - and a big, clean bathroom. Stunning views from the balcony. Very quiet on an evening. A 10min walk into town along the railway lines. The owner was very helpful and willing to help us organize transport and things to do without being pushy or intrusive. Filling breakfast (included) with beautiful views. Loved the pet dog! Would recommend at this price point, we loved it here!

A true paradise! The experience in this delightful guest house was fantastic. Arriving after a long journey on the fantastic train that crosses the Hills we were welcomed by Dhana's dad (unforgettable manager) with a magnificent tea on the terrace, with delicacies prepared with grace and care with a breathtaking view and Ella Rock.Dhana is an exceptional manager. from the moment of booking, he was very kind in handling every detail...Dhana is also an expert guide capable of organising tours of all kinds. what about the Paraiso? room with a breathtaking view, terrace to fill your eyes with greenery and be caressed by the sweet air of Ella.The breakfast was sensational, carefully prepared by Dhana's delicious wife. It was found by Agoda . Absolutely amazing place to see the mountain view. It's very close to the real ravana waterfall. Walking distance from the city .Room is clean and very quiet. We had a free srilankan breakfast with some fruits and tea with coffee .food was delicious. Very friendly staff and helpful highly recommended. Hasitha Dissanayake - colombo

We had a great 2 nights' stay at Dhana's place. He was nice and humble. The family room we had was nice, spacious, and perfect for a family with a child. Breakfast was great that his mother cooked, one of the best in SL. The only problem we had is the 50+ flying ants in the room that I had to kill on our first day there. Keeping the windows open during check-in was not the best idea from the owner, I think.
