Quarrie House

The Accommodation staff (Liz) was very accommodating with request.. Warm and cozy room.

Nice place. Clean enough but damp growing up the walls. Comfortable beds. Wifi code could be explained better. Room very hot, had to open the windows and we heard lots of noise and screaming from the local pubs. TV is complicated to use. Manual could be handy.

We stayed here for a long weekend in November 2024 to celebrate a birthday. We chose Quarrie House as it is located 35 minutes from Durham, 20 minutes from Newcastle city centre and less than one hour from Bamburgh. We thought this would be the ideal location to explore the North East and we weren’t disappointed. Quarrie House exceeded our expectations. The pretty stone cottage is located in the heart of Cramlington, an old village with four pubs and some independent restaurants in walking distance. There is also a huge mall with cinema, chain restaurants and supermarket nearby. The accommodation was very comfortable, the room was warm, extremely clean and quiet. The shared kitchen had all the equipment needed to cook our own meal (although we ate one night at the excellent Panuccis nearby!) The living/ dining room was also very nice and we laughed acting like children playing table football. Our car felt very safe in the private car park at the rear of the house. We didn’t stay long enough and still have plenty to explore so we will be back! Thank you Quarrie House!

Disgusting dirty smell filthy tatty unsaved entrance Dark and dingy with floors and ceilings marked. Tea spoons STUCK in the cup with the dust on top of the kettle. Cobwebs up the stairs Brown sludge out of the soap dispenser Marks on the towels and walls. Big cap under the door see someone outside my end of corridor room On entry place stank of old boiled cabbage. No way was this redecorated. Chips and cracking door frames. Pots and load of stuff in communal areas. A random kitxhen knife on the side! Dirty towels just on the floor and over doors felt very unsafe thats i upped and left

The first time I visited Quarrie House last year it was great so I booked it again this year for my trip to Cramlington. This year it was horrific. I was traveling with my young son and we arrived later in the evening. We were assigned room 11 which was not in the main house, but outside on the car park. It was absolutely awful. Cold, damp, but that would have been fine except the room had not been cleaned prior to our arrival, in fact it didn’t seem like it had been cleaned for quite some time. The bed sheets were dirty and full of someone else's hair and body hair and stained. The bed hd been made, but the sheets were used and filthy. The bathroom had been used, body hair and fluff on toilet seat. There was a floor mirror (or rather a mirror that was leaning on the floor) covered in what I can only assumed was bodily fluids. Absolutely disgusting. The walls were yellow with damp, skirting boards crumbled, doors hanging off hinges. Completely unfit to be leased as a guest room. I tried to contact the out of hours number because all I wanted was a room Change or at minimum some clean sheets. There was no response by call, text or email. In the end I had to get a taxi to a different hotel. There was no way I was prepared to sleep on dirty sheets in a horrible damp, unclean room at the back of a hotel that clearly wasn’t part of the main hotel. There was no one on site to help and I still have not received a call or email or any response to my countless messages. Take a look at the photos. The positive reviews are for rooms in the main house. The room I got was nothing short of an outhouse. Why the heck did they put a woman and a child in an annex on the car park that hadn’t been cleaned?! No support, bo response to contact my text, call or email.

Dirty. Room not cleaned prior to arrival. No support. Company does not return calls, no one on site to help. Room assigned was not in main house. Moldy, damp, doors hanging off, skirting boards crumbling. Absolutely not fit for lease. Room assigned was most certainly not on the company photos. Toilet used and not clean, bedding used and not cleaned. Awful. Feel absolutely ripped off. They took my money and absolutely no call, no help. No apology.
