Jin Ding Hotel (Yuexia Building)

The room had an odd smell and felt old and not very clean, with black spots on the bed. However, the location was good and the breakfast was decent.

The room had heating, so it was very warm. Outside the window, there were pine forests and mist, making for a pretty good overall experience. However, I felt a bit of altitude sickness at night, struggled to breathe, and didn't sleep very soundly. The weather was great on the day we checked in, but it rained the next morning, so we missed the sunrise. Still, it was a wonderful experience. Looking out the window into the dense fog felt like being in Silent Hill.

Arrived during the off-season and snagged a king-size room for less than a twin room – what great luck! If you're staying at Golden Summit, this is the most established hotel, offering the most comfortable environment. Other hotels are too close to the Buddhist temples and can be noisy. My single room came with complimentary Emei Snow Bud tea, and on a nice day, sipping tea by the window while watching the sea of clouds was quite delightful. The hotel's complimentary breakfast, provided by the Meishilin restaurant, offered a very rich buffet selection. For lunch at Golden Summit, you can purchase a meal voucher from Meishilin, which pretty much covers the day. Here's a little surprise: the hotel's food supply and inventory seem to be independent, and ordering directly to your room was excellent, taking care of dinner as well. And then, I'm not sure if I can mention this, but they had cave-aged baijiu available for in-room dining? It had the Yuexia Lou label, making it a perfect souvenir, so I ended up carrying a bottle down. I'll add photos if I get a chance.

This hotel is conveniently located near the cable car exit at Golden Summit. The breakfast, which includes congee, rice, fried dough sticks, and vegetables, was sufficient. The room was clean and tidy, and room service was available at a reasonable price. The heating is pipe heating, which wasn't very warm, probably due to the high altitude, but extra blankets were provided.

I originally booked a Xiangming standard room, but the front desk kindly upgraded me to a Songtao standard room. The room was spacious and clean, and the window was upgraded from an interior window to an exterior one. It was very quiet at night, and I got to see the sunset and the stars. I missed the sunrise in the morning, which was a shame, but I was still very happy with my stay. The shower had plenty of hot water, and the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. The breakfast was rich and varied, and the service was warm and welcoming. It was a great experience overall.

The male receptionist had a terrible attitude, very impatient with guests. Just a heads-up to future visitors: don't be polite to him, just confront him directly. I don't know where he gets the arrogance from, being just a small service staff.

The location is absolutely unbeatable, perfect for catching both sunrise and sunset. The heating was very comfortable. The food at the Michelin-starred restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. The only downside was a strong odor emanating from the bathroom.

Excellent, excellent! If you're here to see the 'Golden Summit' sunrise, this is incredibly convenient. I'll definitely choose this place again next time. It's just a short walk to the Golden Summit, and the service is great too. Looking forward to my next stay! Mount Emei is truly wonderful!
