Located in the spa town of Moffat, Buccleuch Arms Hotel is a former 18th-century Georgian coaching inn which offers free Wi-Fi and a restaurant serving award-winning food. Just 5 minutes’ drive from the A74 motorway, the hotel also features a scenic garden and a collection of single-malt whiskys to sample.

We walked in without a booking and they welcomed us in with open arms. The hospitality was exceptional and they all had such kind warm hearts, entertaining us with stories of their South African heritage. The food was outstanding too. 10/10

Once again many thanks to Dave and his team for a fantastic stay. Even after I had made a mistake with the booking for a party of four, staff did everything to make sure they could accommodate us. Lovely people, exceptional service, great food.

Came here with my sisters as we started our tour of Scotland. We needed a night to settle in to the new time one after flying from Canada. We were greeted warmly and felt welcomed immediately. It’s a lovely place with a bar, sitting areas and a restaurant. We had a yummy dinner, a good night’s sleep and an amazing breakfast to get us going for the day. Only downside was the shower. It was adequate but water pressure not great.

Great Biker friendly staging post or touring base if you are coming from the south. There is a warm welcome from Dave and Jenny who run the hotel. There are secure garages to rent for a reasonable £5 a night and Dave has set up a service station to manage tyres and cleaning with free products and towels. There is also a stock of different oils should you need a top up, valve caps, ear plugs etc - just help yourself. Food was fantastic, excellent steak pie and the breakfast will set you up for the day. Room was clean and with everything you need. Thoroughly recommend this place and fully intend to be back the next time I'm riding Scotland. Based at the bottom of the south leg of the Crieff Cloverleaf, this is a great jumping off point if you are continuing on North

This was our second visit but the first where we had a few days. Hospitality and welcome is excellent from all, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel delivers strongly but what makes the difference is Dave's local knowledge of routes and willingness to add these to your satnav. Dave will tailor these to the weather and your needs. This means you lose no time on the wrong routes and you get 100% bang for your buck for a motorbike holiday. Golden Eagles and quiet sweeping roads all included! Previously we had always gone north but we are now also converts to the South. Plus you know your bike is safe.

Wow!!!! Just absolutely everything about this hotel and staff is tremendous. Such a warm, friendly & professional welcome. Hotel rooms are clean and well presented. The breakfast and evening meals are cooked to perfection with an astounding personal touch of knowing your names when seated (li'l placemats with your name printed on them) my crew and I were blown away with this. Run by a "biker" family who go the extra mile (no pun intended), to cater for your stay if you're a biker, offering different routes to enjoy awesome rides around Scotland, they also have bike sheds to lock up your pride 'n joy (although all bikes are perfectly safe in locked & camerered yard).. The facilities offered to care for your motorcycle are phenomenal (from dust caps to chain lube, to oil 'n even a jet wash)... The list is endless. I highly recommend staying at the Buccleuch Arms Hotel in the lovely li'l village of Moffat ❤️ Gilly's Crew look forward to our stay here again next year.. 😊

It must be our 12th year of staying twice a year. Excellent 5 days with friends from Yorkshire along with the Geordie contingent. Rooms impeccable as always. Breakfast and evening meal superb. Lovely garden to the rear of the hotel for a beer and sitting in the sun. Friendly family run hotel who cannot do enough to ensure a wonderful stay.

Called in for a pint and some food The staff were brilliant , nothing was a bother . Had a drink in the lounge then escorted to our table in the restaurant upstairs where are food was ready. The food was lovely along with the waiting staff . Definitely be back again 👍
