We could not recommend this hotel highly enough, it was a pleasure to stay in. Dean, Cathy and his family together with his wonderful staff were so helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious! There is so much to do onsite from the private access to the beach, hot tubs and sauna, just a lovely getaway in the West of Ireland. The music provided in the bar was fantastic, really lively and we even got to play the bodhran which added to the craic. If you are looking for comfort, good food and drink and to take in all the sights of Ballyconneely, Clifden and neighboring towns you can't go wrong with the Connemara Sands Hotel!!!.

The Connemara Sands is an ideal location for a relaxing break. Superb service, food, and facilities all combine to create a relaxing atmosphere. We had lunch in the Sands bar before our jacuzzi, seaweed bath, sauna, and sea swim experience. This was followed by a delicious dinner with a fabulous selection of food and drink. We were surprised to have live music in the bar that night also! The following morning we had a fresh to order hot breakfast, and more time in the sea! The staff of the Sands went beyond expectations throughout our stay.

This os the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. They make everything they can from scratch and it shows. I had 3 dinners and a lunch here and every meal was sensational. Its a stylish, very comfortable hotel, a 3 minute walk from a private beach that looks tropical. Comes with a sauna, hot tubs, seaweed baths. The staff couldn't be nicer and I've already booked to come back

Superb experience. The ideal place from which to explore Connemara. Stylish hotel appartment, very well equipped. Very comfortable bed. Wonderful sea view and beautiful sandy beach (private access, just a 3-minute walk from the room). A very relaxing place. Dean and Kathy are lovely hosts. My only regret is to not have spent more time. We will definitely come back.

Amazing staff & lovely food. I had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The location was perfect—close to everything, yet quiet enough for a peaceful night’s sleep. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a great variety of fresh options. Every detail felt thoughtful and refined. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I can’t wait to return!

This hotel is a little gem. With private access to the beach for the kids and a tennis court. The hotel self catering suite is ideal for families two bedrooms kitchen bathroom and access to the sea **** bath beach and sauna that you can book online. The Resturant is 5 star with oysters, fresh sea food beautiful scallops and lobster pie with puff pastry to name a few. Marion on reception is so helpful she can’t do though to help even filling the seaweed bath for me! The staff are very friendly in general and very nice to the children they are very welcome in the restaurant. Very Good cocktails. Despite cold August we enjoyed our stay very much.

This hotel is my happy place. I love to be so close to the ocean (even in October), gorgeous walks, fabulous scenery, amazing customer service and excellent food. Dean, Kathy and family make this hotel, the best on the island. Even as a very large group, we are always welcomed with open arms and nothing is too much trouble. We can’t wait to return in April for the Connemarathon.

We attended a wedding anniversary celebration the weekend of 8th November 2024. The Hotel is fabulous and set in the most stunning location. There is access to the beach and all the usual spa facilities. The staff are so friendly and could not be more helpful. The suites are really lovely. Fantastic shower! The decor is really fresh and bright and we loved the colour scheme. A really substantial tasty breakfast and our two evening meals were delicious. Andrew & Marie Fitzpatrick
