Adults Only, Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters

The resort is good.. it’s mostly for couples who just want peace and quiet

My family and I had an amazing time. The food and service were impeccable. The facilities were also fantastic, pity the stay was short so could not indulge in most of the activities. Notable mention to staff Cranston, who went above out of his way to ensure that our requests were honored (give that guy a raise) I would definitely return to Royalton.

I just returned from spending the last week Saturday thru Saturday at the Royalton Blue Waters Hideaway in Montego Bay Jamaica. I booked two rooms with a combination of points and dollars which ran me a l little over 5 grand plus 300,000 points so not an insignificant amount of dollars/points. I am a Lifetime Titanium Marriott Bonvoy member with over 1500 Marriott nights and 18 years of elite status, point being I understand how things work and that things like upgrades, special room requests are based upon availability at the time of checkin. To that end, i reached out two days prior to our arrival asking that the two rooms be placed somewhat close to each other if possible and would love an upgrade if available. The chat response i received was predictable in that all of this was based upon availability but they would place the notes in my file and they would accommodate if at all possible. I arrive mid afternoon for checkin, gave them my name and they immediately said both rooms were ready and I could go them . At no point during the checkin process was my status recognized nor welcomed. I say this not because i even care about the recognition but because of what transpired later in this story. i asked where they were located and she informed me that one room was on floor 6 and that the other was on floor one. At this point, i informed the front desk clerk that i had spoken to the hotel two days prior and requested that the rooms be in the same vicinity if at all possible and if there was a possibility that request could be honored. She ran off to he back room to confer with someone. After about 15 minutes she came saying she had good news and that she found two rooms on the 6th floor that were only two rooms apart and that again, they were both ready for occupancy. We follow the bellhop to our rooms on the 6th floor and while the rooms were clean and cool(basic needs), they were on the front left side of the hotel literally overlooking the loading docks at the back of the hotel , along with the boiler rooms and in the distance the highway. I would not consider myself a room snob but this room view had to the absolute worse id been given in at least 15 of my 17 Marriott Elite years. I simply could not believe that this was gonna be my view at an all inclusive beach resort in Jamaica for the next seven days but in the end, i ****** it up, said nothing and moved on. My main ask of the rooms being close together was met so lets have some fun. Next day was Super Bowl Sunday so on my way to breakfast, there was a concierge booth set up and they were selling preferred viewing packages for the big game. i sat with the lady who was selling them to inquire about he packages to find they included a private cabana with TV, liquor, beers, cigars, food service, etc and preferred viewing locations to the big screens being set up for the game. The packages were not inexpensive at $550 a pop but in the end, i decided to purchase a package for the game. W

The good: Very clean resort , excellent sandy beach, rooms are modern, good ratio of staff to guests, beach chairs always available, friendly staff. Thank you Mr. Convey of Calypso restaurant for exceptional customer service, the Oxtail was delicious. Where improvements could help: Buffet food could be better with more variety. A lot of the times the foods were not replenished fast enough. Very limited choice of fruits. The pool should have been cleaned either better or more often.

Just got back from a 6 day friend's trip. Overall meh... I probably won't go back to Jamaica but this was our first trip there. Good: food was great at buffet with plenty of options. The beach was beautiful and mostly private (just a couple of pushy people selling stuff walking). Hotel check in and out was overall very smooth... the girl at the front desk her name started with a T was a super sweetheart! Not so great: When the pool bar opened (not usually on time either) there was usually no ice and no cold beer. So if your a beer drinker this is not your place. The only available beer is Red *****e and president in cans. No draft to be found. The service to get a drink was slow unless it was Sean at the pool bar. The wait staff around the pool was just ok.. Nadine was our favorite. Frozen drinks were half melted by the time we got them. Our TV was out of service for 3 of the 6 days we were there. And the Italian restaurant had a limited menu available. We came to drink and I do feel like that was the biggest part that needed improvement most. As well as more servers and more friendlier bartenders.

This trip was AMAZING! There were a few things that could could been better, but we gave grace being this it was their first week open during our stay. However, there were some awesome people that made the trip truly memorable. Starting with Bianca (Front Desk) she was so welcoming. No matter what we needed during our stay (currency exchange, special room accommodations, questions, etc.) she kept a smile. Ivan (Hideaway Bartender) was so much fun! He is very friendly and very knowledgeable with drinks. His high performance made us always come back to his bar. Tyron (Entertainment) was an all around person. He would sit and talk with ALL of the guest. He was very upbeat and a very good dancer. No matter where we went on the resort Tyron was everywhere and greeting everyone! Venesa (Entertainment) as a supervisor kept the entertainment schedule full. There were dance parties, foam pool parties, line dancing, piano karaoke, etc. Even when it rained she made sure alternative fun was still an option. DJ Slim (Entertainment) was nothing short of energy! His music was so versatile and he was not shy about jumping on the dance floor. Literally anytime that DJ Slim was on the clock my family was in attendance. Robert (Bartender) was super fun and very polite! Rasanai (Entertainment) was a great conversationalist. He talked to everyone and knew so much about Jamaica. Rasanai made sure everyone had a smile and a good laugh around him. Dane (Bartender) made some FIRE drinks! He kept me and my sisters entertained at the bar for over 2hrs. We really enjoyed him. Lenroy (Chef) was top tier! He made my sister a very special birthday dinner. It was beautiful and very thoughtful. We are very grateful for this experience. There were many other people that were very helpful, but I simply cannot remember their names. We definitely plan on going back next year!

I had an amazing time in Jamaica at Royalton Hideaway Resort. I was celebrating my 30th Birthday, this will be a trip I’ll remember forever. The service was exceptional everyone was so friendly. My family and I are already planning our next trip to this resort next year. Some of people that made us feel most welcome includes. Ivan Hideaway Bartender ( a wonderful bartender and kept the drinks coming) Tyron Entertainment ( definitely kept us entertained with the dancing and kept us laughing) Venesa Entertainment ( She is doing an amazing job at Hideaway with keeping the schedule full of entertainment for the guest) DJ Slim Entertainment ( DJ Slim was full of life, and kept the party bumping you could tell when a different DJ was playing the music just wasn’t the same) Robert Bartender ( had exceptional service) Rasanai Entertainment ( he was very welcoming, had wonderful conversation, always had a smile; very insightful on the history of Jamaica) Dane Bartender ( made fire drinks, very friendly and accommodating) Lenroy Chef at the Buffet Restaurant ( my FAVORITE CHEF, he made a personal platter for my birthday the food was sooo good. I’ve never had coconut fish before and when I tell you I was amazed I mean jaw to the floor sooo good. Bianca Hideaway front desk ( she is such a beautiful person, from the moment we arrived she was so kind with a warm welcoming smile) There were minor issues myself and my party experienced. I really wish we were able to enjoy all of the amenities. Unfortunately the spa was not completely open and we weren’t able to enjoy the hydrotherapy area. There were several days that certain restaurants were closed on the premises. There should have been a set schedule accessible for all guest to know how to plan the dinner evenings.

Had a great time on our Honeymoon ! Shout out to our butlers Odane & Kimberly ! They took care us the whole time and made it a great experience. We will be back !!!

Hotel was great but its the staff that make it! Jovi-ann who waits on the pool area is my favourite. She is so funny and helpful and her British accent is brilliant haha. She makes our day when she works. The Vibe team are also great entertainment.
