Had a lovely stay at the Hampton by Hilton. Everything was fine and the Hotel is in an ideal quiet location just off the main road, near the station and main centre of York. Only disappointment was the lack of evening snacks and deserts. We had to end up having a packet of Jaffa cakes!! Very poor, also no evening Restaurant .

Hotel room was clean and as advertised. Breakfast was included but quite sub par (same options each day with really cheap fried options and very faulty waffle maker and coffee). The car park situation is absurd. It's a 5 min walk and the validated price is 18.50 per day. The check-in process took far too long, considering all of my details were already included in the Trip.com booking. But the staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast options looked sorry for themselves, miniature pastries, tired fruit..
No fridge
No Decaf drink options in room
No coffee machine
A unesecarily big TV, spend the money on some useful amenities like above mentioned- 4k monitor makes standard quality usual broadcasting look worse. Also no streaming apps available, and screen casting wouldn't work.
AC temperature restricted to lowest 19°C, which wasn't really cool enough.

Great location: short walk from the train station and the centre.
The room was basic, but the bed was comfortable, and A/C was working well- especially useful for heating after getting soaked in the rain, exploring the city.
Cleanliness could be improved - the sofa had visible wet stains, the carpet had a wet patch, and the shower could use a deep clean.
Unfortunately, the rooms are not sound-proof, and we were woken up by kids running and shouting on the corridor.
Breakfast is complimentary, but the hot cooked part tasted like cardboard. Pastries were lovely, and coffee was decent.
The team was friendly and helpful.
Overall, an okay hotel for a weekend away, nothing fancy.

Room 201 was very noisy due to some kind of filtration system which I can only imagine is above the room. It was running constantly. We complained about it at 3am and was just given ear buds.
We also complained about it at check-out and was just told the maintenance team will look into it.
The hotel is in a good location with parking close by with a decent buffet breakfast.
I would not come back though due to the poor service though.

The service was good up until we needed toothpaste and a tooth brush. I requested it be paid towards our room but I had to change clothes and come down to the desk to pay. It was fine but just inconvenient.
