Don’t bother turning up for breakfast After checking the website decided to forego our usual breakfast stop off point on our journey to try this place instead only to be told they don’t take walk ins for breakfast - bookings only. No mention of that on the website

We booked breakfast for my daughters 17th, I mentioned on the booking form it was a celebration ' it was ignored - I didn't expect a red carpet or fanfare but it would have been nice for them to acknowledge it. The food was mediocre at best, burned French toast and the bacon was obviously cooked much earlier and reheated as it was not crispy and exceeding tough. I asked for more milk for our tea and was given the dregs from the table behind as the waitress was clearing the table. I watched her do this and was horrified, not only is this disgusting, what else is reused in the kitchen? I have a compromised immune system as I am on chemo, I can't share food with strangers and their bacteria it could put me in hospital and I'm sure it goes against basic hygiene rules for restaurants. We asked for a fresh jug of milk which was brought out but now I don't trust that any food was ours first I have to say it turned my stomach, if she could do that openly and so automatically what happens when we can't see? I will never go back.

What a stunning meal we had today the Lemon posset is probably one of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted! My husband had the lamb and was very impressed! We just love visiting here! The staff are always so lovely, our absolute favourite place to eat!

Very disappointed. We have been here a few times and loved it. This time was very disappointing. We waited 40 minutes for our starters because they had a party of 23 in. My soup was very bland and no flavour (country vegetable) then when my main came out they put so much gravy over it!! No flavour to gravy and my roast potatoes were cold. The staff are fantastic and gave us a free sweet but it should not happen in the first place. We stopped going to the moat house and I think we might have to stop going here as well. Staff were great but service and food a big let down. This is only my opinion and the group I was with.

A lovely Inn, full of character, to stay at. We stayed for one night with breakfast included. The staff were all cheerful and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was very comfortable as was the bed. We had a lovely breakfast of Eggs Benedict and left the table full. We were told, anecdotally, that the lunchtime and evening food is very good as well. They have a large, well lit, car park to boot. All in all an excellent experience

We popped in for lunch as we were staying nearby.Staff were all very friendly and surroundings tastefully decorated and super clean.Sandwiches were tasty & puddings super will definitely visit again.

Popped in for lunch. The food was all really good, hot and good portion sizes. Staff were all friendly and there was a lovely relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone to try however I can imagine at peak times it gets very busy so I would recommend booking in advance.

We are returning customers and found the place to be as welcoming as before. The staff are always friendly and polite, our room was a little cold but we were offered a boost on the heating if necessary. There were a few issues in the shower room but these were reported on the system immediately. The food was excellent and the staff were very attentive. When it was noted that we were waiting quite a while for our food we were given an apology and offered more drinks. Not once did we have to ask about anything. Would highly recommended and will definitely be staying there again.

Myself and my partner have been really looking forwards to a night away and were not disappointed at all. The staff were so friendly throughout our stay, the room was beautiful and so comfy and the breakfast the next morning was perfect. We will definitely be coming back and we are very grateful to the staff for such a wonderful experience.
