Property Description
Beautiful, authentic, historic Farmhouse and Country Home (circa 1916) on 45 forested acres at the foot of a tall mountain with a pristine stream that runs in front of the home. Located in Manassas Gap, gateway to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley, directly across the valley from historic African Mountain and the Southern Appalachian range. Located in a biodiversity hotspot near many historic landmarks, parks, trails, rivers, farms, country kitchens, and festival locations.
A wide range of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, eggs, and home cooked goods are available in several nearby locations, along with farm to table restaurants. Seasonal festivals in nearby towns are very active!
Fully restored three-level working farm home with three porches, a full kitchen, and large living areas to accommodate eight people, with air conditioning for all three bedrooms and floor fans in all rooms. Our living and dining areas include baby high chair as well as books and toys for children and a wide range of books and games for adults. Bedding includes two Queen beds and one Full bed, as well as two extra large twin bed cots with metal bed frames and memory foam mattresses as well as additional deluxe inflatable twin beds if needed (all with pillows, blankets, and linens). A picnic table, charcoal grill, and fire box with Adirondack chairs is located by the creek. Enjoy breakfast or a drink on a wooden bridge over the stream at the opening of the woods. The back porch faces the woods and is open-air.
The front porch on ground level overlooks a stream complete with chairs and side tables for dining. The glassed porch on the second level overlooks the mountain and has a table and chairs for a meal with a sitting area and coffee station. The kitchen has a full suite of appliances, including a crock pot and bread maker with cooking supplies (yeast, flower, etc.), and crock pot. Coffee bars on each floor of the house are stocked with coffee, tea, and creamers and supplies. Well water from the tap is purified though a dual water treatment and high density filtration system and tested.
Located within 30 minutes of over 100 unique local attractions including rivers, parks, orchards, wineries, historic areas, local shops and boutiques, antique stores, restaurants, wildlife areas, national forests, farm produce, and farm-fresh markets including seasonal pick-your-own fruits, and festivals. The house and property are as pictured and described on the site. We were very comfortable and relaxed for the seven days and nights. The property is very private and tranquil. The house is located very near Interstate 66. We went to several parks, historical landmarks, and twice to Washington DC. I cannot adequately describe the spectacular beauty of this area. The mountains, valleys, peach and apple orchards and the rolling hills. To see this, just turn left onto Leeds Manor Rd after leaving the property and drive. The views are magnificent. Mr. Peterson was attentive and available for the arrival and departure.

I stayed there with my family for a month, we had a peaceful time and enjoyed the natural beauty. Saw lots of wildlife! The house itself is clean and comfortable. The hose are very kind and accommodating. I especially enjoyed the extra perks… Including all the coffee! Thank you, Tom!

Graduation
We were there to celebrate my sins graduation in Front Royal. The property was close enough we didn't spend a ton of time driving. The special touches were also appreciated. The last place we stayed was drank and generic. Tom has gone the extra mile to make sure it was homey! It was difficult to find the drive, but Tom was super quick to call back and help. I suggest better placement of the sign or a bigger sign. We hope it is available in 3 years when we have another graduation!

Fantastic get away
Our stay at this beautiful property was as hassle free as it gets. Tom was an absolutely amazing guest and made everything as easy as possible. He reached out prior to our arrival and made checking in easy and also recommended a great spot to get a bite to eat in The Apple House! Everything in the house was as stated in the description. A nice little drive to DC to see our awesome capital. Would definitely recommend this place as Tom is easy going and very accommodating!

Lovely stay in a picturesque setting
We enjoyed a retreat from the city in this lovingly cared for farmhouse. Tom was super responsive and our kids had a great time playing in the creek and in the woods.

Three Day Weekend
Easy to book and communicate with PM. Greatly appreciate being pet friendly as we travel with our aging mini doxie. You are in the woods, so there are bugs folks. Plenty of bedrooms to choose from on two levels for those who want to channel their inner Goldilocks. Kitchen is stocked so that it is easy to cook meals and for the coffee/tea drinkers you don’t have to leave the floor you are on for another cup if you don’t want to. Plenty of parking as well if you are traveling as a group. Trail and creek are a highlight. To note: you will hear the train as it travels through the area. Close to several local wineries, Front Royal for baked goods, and Sky Meadows State Park.

Nice restful vacation
The house is huge and beautiful. Very convenient and quiet location. Great for relaxation with the family and friends. We experienced only a few mishaps while being there. 1) Google shows a wrong route leading to the house, so it would be nice if the correct address would be provided to the Google and bigger sign would be indicating the address. 2) the wasps and ticks were on the property promises. Understanding that the property is located in the forest we would suggest spraying the grass and house roof to prevent the infestation. 3) it would be nice to have detachable shower heads for families with kids. Overall, it was great experience and the host was very helpful.
