Stayed here for a week on a coach holiday and it was as good 2nd time around but at a different time of the year. The reception staff are friendly, efficient and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The staff in the dining room are efficient and very friendly. Food is amazing with a fantastic choice for dinner and a superb buffet breakfast. The bedrooms are spacious with comfy beds and the walk in shower was nice and big. Housekeeping keep the public spaces spotless as well as the bedrooms. Loved the new robotic helper in the dining room. Makes it much quicker for staff to serve and clear away. Good evening entertainment. Will go back again. Family run hotel that never disappoints.

Great Hotel and friendly staff, group of 22 Senior discovery tours members arrived here October 8 and stayed 7 nights...we enjoyed great breakfast and dinners at the hotel's restaurants. Walking distance to the train station, Ferry docks and other attraction. There is a bar for those that enjoy a cigarette with their drinks attached to the restaurant

This hotel prides itself on being "friendly and more" and most of its staff are very friendly and helpful.. However, there are a number of basics lacking in the hotel. There is no air conditioning and even in early September temperatures got up to 30 celsius. There is no provision of tea and coffee facilities in the room, although I was told that they could be provided at an additional cost. There is no iron and ironing board. The bath towels are the smallest I have ever come across. On arrival one of the bedsheets was soiled with what looked like blood, but this was replaced quickly with apologies. All of these are minor and did not spoil our six-day stay. However, the man who appeared to be the manager of the dining room and it's staff was so unfriendly and rude to several people and this is totally inexcusable. He was rude to myself and my partner because I asked if I could have my chips/fries served without any salt being put on them. Since the salt was added after the fries/chips had been cooked, I did not see this was an unreasonable request. I was told that everybody in Austria had salt on their chips and he made it clear that my request was unreasonable. On another occasion residents on our dinner table complained that although the menu stated salmon, they were served pollack. The same man insisted , and rudely explained, incorrectly, that "pollack" was the German word for salmon. In addition three guests complained that the pollack was not fully cooked and tasted and smelt "off" and was inedible. His response to this was that he had had the same meal himself and that there was nothing wrong with it. No apologies, and no offering of an alternative meal were made. I consider his rudeness to have been totally inexcusable and not in keeping with the hotel's "friendly and more" claims. Table service for drinks was very good, however, later in the bar area there was often nobody available to serve drinks. The set evening meal, although four course, was generally disappointing. Obviously done on a low budget with few fresh vegetables - one day for example tinned carrots were served and were almost inedible. The breakfast each day consisted of a wide range of continental style cheeses, breads and meats, fruits and juices with some hot options . It was self service with no a la carte options but was very enjoyable. Overall I would not recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a Leger Bavarian castles, winter wonderland and the Swiss glacier express holiday in March 2024. I was a solo traveller and so paid a room supplement of a couple of hundred pounds, but it was worth the money for the lovely stay that I had. Firstly, the staff are all wonderfully friendly and very helpful. Check in was swift and we were met with welcome drinks on arrival. My room was on the ground floor with a walk in corner shower, as requested. It was a very good size room with twin beds coupled together, but two separate duvets. I am told this is a common set up in Austria. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The shower worked well and a good quality hair dryer was provided. The towels were a good size and the electric blackout blinds on the windows worked very well. There were two large windows that could be opened and an adjustable heating system, but no air conditioning. A fan was provided and I did use this each night as the hotel was very warm. I know it’s a winter month, but the weather was unusually warm with 16-18 degrees centigrade and sun daily. I did find the room too warm for me, but I am someone who is often too warm. There was plenty of hanging space and a safe but no fridge - this would be a benefit for guests. I think I had one of the non refurbished rooms as the shower cubicle and room was a little dated, but clean and had no problems. The breakfast provided was excellent with plenty of choice and dinner was a 4 course meal each night. The warm, fresh bread rolls were amazing! We had a 1915 dinner time daily and we were not finished much before 9pm each night. It consisted of a starter, soup, main that you choose with a numbered card in the morning and dessert. I ate well even as a fussy veggie and didn’t go hungry at all. Drinks and wine were also included, by the glasses were very small in size and need to be made larger to avoid repeated trips/requests for more drinks. The room was nicely laid out and we had 6 per table. I liked that butter was on a plate and that they avoided single use type items to cut down on waste. The evening entertainment (singing/music) was excellent and very enjoyable. The hotel staff were all very helpful and accommodating of any requests I made. The robots used during meal service were also entertaining and put a modern slant on the evening service. On check out day we were given a branded face towel and were waved off by the staff, which was a very nice touch. The hotel is well located within easy reach of main attractions and has a Lidl almost next door if needed. I would absolutely recommend this hotel and hope to stay again in future.

Really enjoyed our 5 night stay , very good service , food good , we had a 4 course meal every night you can choose mains . I especially enjoyed the asparagus soup, not so keen on salads but you can just say no to anything you don't fancy . Breakfast really good. Very clean. Room big. Entertainment as well a bit old fashioned but good fun. Go with it. We were even waved goodbye

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with bluebird coaches and must say what a lovely warm welcome we were all given, nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff and always there to help, the food was superb and the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, if there is to be one very slight negative then it as to be that the bed was a little to hard, apart from that a wonderful stay.

I arrived at the hotel as part of a coach group but had to stay on alone after my husband was admitted to hospital. The hotel prides itself on its friendly staff and they lived up to their word. The Receptionists helped me find taxis, scanned medical forms, provided cups of tea and advice. They managed to find a room for me as I needed to keep extending my stay. The restaurant staff were considerate of my circumstances, providing comfort food when I didn't feel like eating. This may not be the most expensive or grandest hotel in which I have stayed but it is the best. Thank you to all of the staff for helping to make a stressful and traumatic time more bearable.
