We stayed this weekend for 2 nights at Newburgh House. We felt so welcomed by the hosts. So lovely and chatty made us feel so at home. The building and decorations are very beautiful. We stayed in the garden suite and it was a very spacious room, with a TV, heater, multiple mirrors, hairdryer, comfy big bed and a massive bath in the ensuite. Our room on looked the beautiful massive garden. We had breakfast both nights which was delicious and had a nice variety. We had the best stay and would love to come back soon!

Spent a lovely two night stay with my wife following our previous cancellation due to storm Darra and rebooked for this Bank holiday weekend. What a warm and welcoming period property set in its own extensive gardens and hosted by the charming Ryan and Andy and their extended family Mowgli, Baloo, Bilbo Baggins and Oh. We where made to feel welcome and at home from the very outset . Breakfast each day was freshly cooked to our liking and nothing was to much for Ryan who was tentatively on hand to offer us sustenance not only for our bodies but for our minds aswell with Information and advice around local attractions that would be worth a visit during our stay. We would highly recommend this charming period B&B for a relaxing break while exploring the North Yorkshire countryside

A Christmas gift was a voucher for afternoon tea. Today (13th April) we used it at Newburgh House to celebrate my husband's birthday. A delightful setting, with a warm welcome and delicious homemade food. Mark and I would happily recommend to anyone and already plan to return later in the year to celebrate my birthday. Thank you, Ryan and Andy

Wow! My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Newburgh House for an afternoon tea experience with a Buyagift voucher, and we were completely blown away! From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the sheer beauty of the house—both inside and out. The charm, elegance, and warmth of the place made us feel like we had stepped into a dream. And with ample parking, it was a stress-free experience from the start. The afternoon tea was nothing short of divine! Every bite was a testament to the freshness and homemade quality of the food. We indulged in delicate cucumber and cheese sandwiches, a mouthwatering feta, tomato, and onion quiche, perfectly baked plain and fruit scones, and an exquisite selection of cakes. Each bite was bursting with flavor, making it an unforgettable culinary delight! If I had to find a single tiny flaw, I would have loved a wider selection of sandwiches or the option to choose our preferred filling—but that’s purely a personal preference. Overall, Newburgh House was a magical experience, and we left feeling utterly spoiled.

We were gifted a buy a gift 2 night luxury stay but paid £80 to upgrade our room. I wouldn’t call it luxury but it was very nice. The hosts made us feel welcome from our first contact with them on the phone to book & throughout our stay. Our room was large & comfortable with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. My only observation re the room is there are no sockets near any of the mirrors & so had to use my phone camera as a mirror to style my hair. A freestanding little mobile mirror or extension lead would have been useful. The en suite bathroom is huge but the shower cubicle is small & not very powerful, however, not a surprise given age of property but the mouldy sealant in it needs attention. I’m also not a fan of carpeted bathrooms as they don’t dry & aren’t very hygienic but I am a fan of an en suite bathroom. The tea tray offers a selection of teas, coffee, fresh milk in a flask & home made brownies- very good! It was lovely to have 2 comfy chairs & a coffee table if we wanted to read or watch tv. Breakfast is still managed Covid style with pre ordering the night before. I prefer to order at breakfast but that is just personal preference as I never know how hungry I’ll feel if dined out the night before. The fresh fruit salad & yogurt is a perfect start to breakfast, followed by several cooked options. No cereal or porridge options. Tasty breakfast freshly cooked. You cannot fault the hospitality received. Like with most older buildings, areas need attention but that is to be expected. It is a very homely & friendly place to stay that is well located for many local places of interest such as Helmsley, Helmsley Castle & Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard & York. Parking is at rear of property & the advice to unload luggage at front before parking was sensible. I wouldn’t pay extra for the upgrade next time but it was a treat to have the space & views on this occasion. We would recommend staying here. Our negative comments are not complaints, just our personal observations & we would stay again. Thank you Ryan & Andy. They work very hard to make you feel welcome & at home.

Well, where to start, a beautiful home with lovely rooms and exceptional hosts. A good hearty breakfast overlooking the garden, before heading out towards the Howardian Hills for a walk. We stayed for two nights, walking to the pub in the next village on the first night before staying cosy in our room on the second night. The night just got better when the wonderful antipasti board, complete with a bottle of wine arrived at our door. Andy delivered the humongous tray of delights, complete with the home made chutney, the cucumber chutney is to die for! Quite simply don’t walk, run to Newburgh House!

A lovely over night stay at this beautiful B&B in Yorkshire! Very friendly hosts made us so welcome, very pretty quaint room felt so homely! Nice little touches like fresh milk and home made brownies in the room. A very delicious breakfast this morning! The husband enjoyed his full English, and I had a very yummy smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with toast. Would thoroughly recommend this place!

A wonderful treat for my 74th birthday. Wonderful warm welcome from Andy and the cats. Excellent accommodation and welcome pack. The prosecco was very much appreciated. An excellent breakfast choice ( I have to have gluten free food) which was delicious and filling. It was great to watch the birds, including a woodpecker, feeding in the garden. Nothing was a trouble. A brilliant stay. Thanks
