The hotel is just next to the largest square in the tourist area, so the location is extremely convenient. Furthermore, our room views directly to the square, which is very beautiful. During the quiet season on December, our stay at this hotel proved to be nothing short of exceptional. The boss went above and beyond by graciously upgrading us to a more spacious room, setting the tone for a remarkable experience. Clean and Exceptional Rooms: The rooms were impeccably clean, undoubtedly the best we encountered during our three weeks of travel in China. The attention to cleanliness and comfort was evident, making our stay truly enjoyable. Friendly Boss and Staff: The hospitality extended by the boss and the entire staff was outstanding. The boss, in particular, demonstrated genuine friendliness, going the extra mile to enhance our experience. Not only did he ensure our comfort within the hotel, but he also shared valuable insights, such as guiding us to secure better deals for dinner through Chinese apps. Smart Travel Advice: One of the standout moments was the boss's strategic travel advice regarding our journey to Xian. He wisely suggested an alternative route, advising us to take a train to Changsha and then a flight to Xian, saving us from the potentially high costs of high-speed train tickets. We appreciated the boss's insight, and it turned out to be a wise decision. Generous Gesture: As we were occupied with purchasing train and air tickets near the reception counter, the staff surprised us with a heartwarming gesture. They offered a complimentary lunch for our families, showcasing their hospitality and making us feel truly valued. This unexpected act of kindness added a special touch to our stay. We highly recommend this establishment to fellow travelers seeking not just accommodation but a memorable and personalized experience.

Wonderful front deck lady and owner who help carried our luggage from hotel to taxi stand and bring luggage up to the room. Provide us map and details of plan for the town. They are excellent host. Definitely would love to stay here again!

Truly in a class of its own! The best place to stay in Fenghuanggucheng! Near the date of arrival the host, Mr Liao would urge you to add his hotel WeChat for check in information. Then he would give you full details on what transport to take to reach his place complete with a video recording of how to walk there from the tourism office. We really appreciate this thoughtfulness and thoroughness. It was such a sharp contrast to our other hosts during our 2-week sojourn in Hunan! When we asked them for directions to go to their homestays all they replied was ‘take a taxi’! On top of this Mr Liao and his capable smiling assistant Ms Chang went all out to ensure that we were comfortable. He plied us with Chinese tea, gave us tips on where to go, what to see and eat so that we could make the best use of our time at his lovely hotel. No wonder we decided to stay another night there (upon returning from Fanjingshan) after experiencing such great hospitality! The location of his homestay is superb, right in the ancient town itself but away from the noise. It was easy to reach and in a convenient location. It was also a short walk from the town where all the cheap and delicious food are. The bedrooms and bathrooms were in pristine condition. Clean sheets, comfortable beds and furnished with all the facilities that a tourist would require. Looking at the way he named his rooms with lines of poetry we sensed that Mr Liao is a well educated man and it shows in the way he interacts with his guests and how he runs his hotel. Kudos to you Mr Liao and Ms Chang. You both make excellent ambassadors for lovely Fenghuanggucheng!
