Big4 Whitsundays Tropical Eco Resort

Great Caravan park just out of Airlie on Shute Harbour Rd. This is our second visit and has all that couples or families require. The only downside is it is next to the very busy Airlie airport but the noise is confined to day time flights. In all a very nice park.

We went to Airlie for The Presets 20th Anniversary concert. We were delicate (to put it politely), the next morning. The regular and frequent flights,departing and returning about 200 metres away (Whitsunday Coast Airport), was not really our dream recovery day soundtrack : / Beautiful park, though. Amenities top shelf and the airport's Hangar Cafe & Bar was handy for comfort sweets (caramel slice is yummmmmmeeeeeeee). Online booking and after-hours check-in easy

Sites have difficult reversing access for long caravans. Sites have good large slabs. Amenities need maintenance. A hot water tap in one of the ladies showers came off the wall just after 5pm on Saturday. Office was closed and phone was not answered. A lot of water was wasted until my husband managed to get the tap back on and used his own tools to tighten it. Not good enough in our opinion.

Excellent service couldn’t do enough to make our stay a great experence one of the best parks we have stayed at very clean and tidy great amenities live music couldnt ask for anything more will return

Not very family friendly place, nothing for kid’s entertainment unless your kids is under 4 even then limited to a babies play area, pool not child friendly, given 2 towels for 4 people and a lot more

If you want a fun place for kids ... this is not it. We were recommended Tropical Eco Resorts by friends that have stayed here in the past. They joined us this time too. It used to have many activities and fun games and go-carts and movie nights etc. Not any more. After our children were scolded by the manager for the 3rd time we asked for an explanation. They were no longer allowed to ride bikes or scooters on the property. And we were told that after the place was brought out by Big 4 and another establishment they could no longer do the fun activities as they couldn't get insurance for it. However it is still advertised as a fun place for the family. To this the reply was, 'Well if you had phoned after you booked online we would have told you the changes because we have no control over the marketing online'. We now focus on a quiet park for the older travelers, not kids. The managers attitudes were very abrasive. I could say so much more, but ill just leave it with this; It is not the friendly, fun family place it once was.

Great site. A bit of a trek out of Airlie but has good facilities and feel to it. Had a visiting pizza van and music. Pool good. Could do with better activities for kids - maybe a splash water area.. No jumping pillows anymore.

We had problems booking into a caravan park in Airlie due to no vacancies so this park was our last resort but let me tell you it was fantastic and so different to all the our parks we drove past. The setting of the park is great heaps of shade and little bridges and heaps of grass area. It is only 4 mins drive to the centre of Airlie Beach. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful even giving us details of pet sitters we could use. We loved it here and highly recommend it.
