Have just come back from a 2 night stay here and we loved every minute! Very spacious and spotlessly clean! Lovely shared guest area if you do not want to just sit in your room. Extremely comfortable bed and the room was well equipped. Self check in was super easy. Goole felt really safe, even walking around late at night and the route from the train station to the accommodation was super easy. Really close to supermarkets and cafes Including Costa which is just opposite the train station. We went to the local Wetherspoons on the Friday night and took the train to Leeds on the Saturday. £18 open return for the day, quick change at Doncaster and you can be in Leeds in an hour and a half. Last train leaves Leeds at 10:20pm. Can also get the train to York, Sheffield, Harrogate or Hull and go to the Aquarium! Highly recommend this place for your next stay in Goole!

Room 1 (family room) We booked room 9 but was moved last minute due to it not been ready. On arrival at 3.00pm the reception room and our room looked fantastic but our initial delight was soon devalued by the coldness of our room. We sent a message to the management team asking how we can increase the temperature, they took an hour to reply and said the heating was automated and came on at 4pm (so policy is to expect guests to arrive to a cold room). We were out for a function and returned late, again the room was not warm and during the night we woke several times feeling very cold. In the morning we skipped our showers as the room was so cold. In the morning we met our friends in the communal area and we were all wearing our coats trying to warm up. I don't write many reviews unless they are positive but the hotel has not responded to any of my emails and I feel they just don't care that we had a terrible experience. If you are going in summer I would recommend, but avoid in winter.

I don't normally write reviews as I stay away for work a lot and so I feel they have more impact (good & bad) when i do! after a recent stay at The Briarcroft I felt I should post this. Main things I look for in a good hotel: Low noise - tick. Good internet - tick. plugs by the bed - tick. Somewhere to work - tick Comfy bed - tick, tick & tick. Tea/coffee facilities - tick Good shower - tick. Local amenities - tick. Helpful staff - tick. Parking - tick. The hotel is very reasonably priced for what you get and after speaking to some of the team you could see they both cared and wanted their guest to have a good stay. I will definitely be booking again when next in the area.

What a beautiful hotel, we stayed in the family apartment which was ideal for us on the ground floor. The hotel was spotless and close to all the amenities. Bed was so comfortable and pillows were so plush. This is a self catering hotel with a fully catered kitchen in the apartment as well as having a guest kitchen and laundry you're catered for every occasion Big thank you to Michelle and her staff Cheryl and Marly who made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back and have no qualms in recommending The Briarcroft to anyone who is visiting Goole.

Terrible experience avoid if you can. I had booked this guest house through Corporate Travel Management and it had been prepaid with all the payment information faxed to the guesthouse by CTM. As I was waiting for CTM to answer the phone the male receptionist kept shouting at me telling me that I had to pay for my stay with my own bank card over and over again. It got so bad that I left and made the call in my car in order to get the CVV number from CTM. The first night the bed was not good but it was bearable, the second night it completely collapsed on one side at the head end but because I did not want to receive any further abuse from the receptionist I just put up with it. The showers are abysmal and my stay was truly a bad experience. I’ve traveled around the world most of my working life and this “hotel” the worst place I’ve ever had the misfortune to stay in. Cheap but not cheerful.

Due to a few things going wrong during the day, I knew that I was not going to make my 8pm expected arrival at Briarcroft. As they have a reception that closes at 9pm.. I decided to get in touch and let them know of my later expected arrival time of about 10pm. I continued to use the only available method of contact… a phone call.. but was met with a ‘no one available’ answer and that it was not possible to leave a message. I continued to try a number of times from 3pm onwards. I finally got to Briarcroft at 9.55pm and was greeted by a very frosty and stern reception… like being told off at school… No enquiry/concern about my late arrival… instead I was told that I was lucky that I was being let in. I explained that I had been trying to get in touch for much of the day… but was not believed.. I was told that no missed call had been received. I then called their phone, whilst on speaker phone… and when it went straight to the answer message… I was told that there must be a fault with the BT system. No apology or concern shown. I travel the length and breadth of the country for my work… usual course of action if I’m delayed getting to a hotel, is to get in touch and inform… or the hotel gets in touch to enquire… usually expressing concern for my lateness. To start a 2 day stay, after a difficult day, with such a reception… is unacceptable. The remainder of the stay was pleasant enough.. but clouded by the reception.

Booked through my company my first impressions were oh no as I'm usually put up in Premier inns however the hotel proved to be a gem the bed was far superior than premier in fact that's my only complaint i couldn't get up in the morning the room was lovely and warm in what proved to be three of the coldest night of the year and very quiet the housekeeping was very good and the breakfast was ready for you on the dot at 7.30. I didn't catch the name of the lad who appeared to be running it on his own but he couldn't have been more accommodating. Don't expect beautiful views it is on a street or a drink its not licensed but there are plenty of places to go for that in the surrounding area.

Spent 2 nights here in room number 6 (7th & 8th of September 22). The bed linen was pure white, crisp and smelt divine. Bed was really comfortable. Room was immaculate. Shower, toilet and pure white towels were spotless. Richard and his team could not do enough for me. They even arranged to source Quorn sausages for my breakfast. Definitely real value for money. A must to book if you are visiting Goole or the surrounding areas.
