Hotel Indigo FLORENCE by IHG

Close to the train station – but that's both a pro and a con, as there are many people of color around, and it feels unsafe. The hotel itself is very beautiful and well-maintained. We had some minor issues with check-in, and it took a very long time. They provided water every day at the hotel, which was a nice touch!

Pros: 1. The front desk staff were very patient and proactive in coordinating rooms. 2. The basic facilities were complete, and the room was very quiet. 3. The hotel is very close to the train station and all attractions, within walking distance. Cons: 1. The window of our room connected to the adjacent balcony, which posed a bit of a security risk as someone could enter the room through the window. 2. The bathroom lacked ventilation, and the smell was very strong, making the first night quite uncomfortable. It got a bit better after we kept the door closed. 3. The hotel is located in a small alley with few people, which can be a bit scary at night. However, it should be fine as long as you return to the hotel before dark.

Facilities: The facilities are relatively new, on par with a 3-4 star hotel in China. The elevator is tiny; three people plus two suitcases fill it up. The hallway layout is very strange; some rooms on the same floor require going up a few steps. Unfortunately, I was assigned one of those rooms, and had to carry several huge suitcases up the steps. I checked in around 1 AM and was given a room on the second floor facing the road – incredibly noisy! The light rail runs until about 1 AM and starts again very early in the morning, so getting a good night's sleep was impossible. Major disappointment!!!!! Cleanliness: The cleaning was okay, I guess. The new towels were just casually placed on the sink, and the trash from previous use on the sink wasn't completely cleared. Environment: The overall decor is quite odd, very colorful. Service: Similar to a budget hotel in China; I wouldn't say there was any real service. I had a great experience staying at an Indigo hotel before, while traveling with Shangri-La in China, so I specifically chose Indigo this time, but the difference was huge. I'll definitely think twice in the future. The only upside is its proximity to the station.

Honestly, this was the best hotel of our trip, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Florence. **Facilities**: The room design is great, and those facing the street even have small balconies. **Cleanliness**: Spotless, no complaints. **Environment**: The hotel's location is a bit tricky if you're driving. While it's not actually *in* the ZTL, it's right next to it, making it easy to accidentally drive into the restricted zone. Also, the trams outside can be a bit noisy, but it's fine once you close the windows and doors. **Service**: The service was a bit slow-paced. I had to complete check-in before I could even access the parking lot, which was a bit inconvenient. Overall, the hotel's design is excellent and I highly recommend it.

Convenient location, great facilities, but soundproofing could be better.

The facilities are brand new, instantly making me feel like I was back home. They provide slippers, a complimentary mini-bar, and snacks, and the view from the window is fantastic. The location is near the train station, about a 5-6 minute walk, but the area felt a bit unsettling with a lot of unemployed people around.
