This property is in terrible condition. The owner has an extremely bad attitude, though the front desk staff are very friendly. The host never informed me in advance that the bed linens are only changed every five days; I had no way of knowing this before booking. My room is less than five metres away from the shared area, luggage storage and key pick-up point, and that five-metre measurement excludes these communal zones. The actual distance between my room and this busy shared area where people constantly walk back and forth, collect luggage and pick up room keys is merely two metres, resulting in persistent disruptive noise. Furthermore, the window is right next to the toilet. The room has a strong damp, mouldy odour, which I completely did not anticipate. The bathroom itself is also in an unacceptable state.

Located right in the heart of Florence, this place really needs a map to find, and checking in felt a bit like a dungeon crawl since you open the door yourself with codes sent by email. The front desk had a strong, unfamiliar smell that was a bit much for a Japanese person. The room had a double bed, a closet, a dresser, and a TV mounted on the wall. The shower and toilet were shared with the neighboring room. However, the room was clean, and the bath and shower were also spotless, which was great. Even though we wanted to check out earlier than the standard time, they allowed us to do so after we called them via WhatsApp (similar to LINE in Japan). I'd say their service was really good.

They never answer the phone. Everything is done via email and WhatsApp. I find it really inconvenient. If they had a more updated service, I could understand implementing this, but there's no translator or person to guide you. It's like dealing with a robot.

This hotel is usually self-check in. However, when I reached out to tell the staff about my mobile was stolen, the hotel receptionist stayed at the entrance and waited for my arrival. They are very flexible. The cleaning staff works hard about every detail. Very clean, very good location, a few- minute walk to everywhere. A kettle and steam-iron are always available for guests. If the breakfast room has a sink, water tap, microwave, and kitchen facility, it would be perfect.

Pros: The front desk staff were excellent – very friendly and polite. We arrived early and they were kind enough to help us check in ahead of time, which we really appreciated. Cons: The smell from the bathroom and sink in the room, where water backflowed, was truly unbearable. The toilet was shared, and the mosquitoes were a huge problem; my arms were covered in bites. The hotel is on the second floor, and the hallway on the first floor smelled really bad. I understand that renovating an old building can be complicated, but the overall experience was truly unpleasant. The front desk staff were great, though, no doubt about that.
