Hotel Savonarola

First of all, I would like to thank the hotel for organizing my late check-in because I arrived around two in the morning even though there is no reception after 7:30 p.m. We are more in a kind of simple pension than a 2-star hotel. The entrance is located on a major car route, but the walls are thick, so you can't hear anything inside. My room was at the end of a long corridor ending in a hidden corner of the establishment. I never met anyone, and the reception was desperately empty during the two days I stayed there. Comfortable room, bedding ok, rather dark lighting, very basic. In my room you had to go down a few steps to get to the bed, and go back up a few to get to the bathroom, which gave off quite unpleasant odors (cover the shower water drain hole carefully with the towel, and I closed the door tightly. The ceiling was very high and I had pigeons at the window. I didn't have breakfast, but in the morning I didn't meet anyone in the dining room adjoining the reception. I left as I came, putting the keys back in code boxes, closing it behind me, without being able to pay the tourist tax. It was neither pleasant, nor uncomfortable, nor warm, nor fun. I think I'll never come back anyway because the high price and the climate of the hotel don't appeal to me, but that helps.

We stayed one night. Very kind owner, he showed us a route to visit the main points of the city and different places to eat. The room was spacious and clean, and although the structure would certainly need to be refurbished, there was everything that was needed. We were peaceful and quiet all night.
