Dimora Palanca

The hotel claims it’s a five star hotel, I didn’t see that. Basic amenities were not provided like a kettle or a tooth brush. What I really did not appreciate was the A/C. They kept turning it off every 2 hours. I woke up several times at night from the heat, to request they turn it on again. I do not recommend this hotel, the price does not match the service.

Superb boutique hotel. Clean, comfortable and very attentive staff. Klaudia was very knowledgeable about the area and always happy to help. We stayed four nights and couldn’t fault our stay. The room was large, the bed super comfortable and nothing was to much trouble with all the staff. A home away from home.

A beautiful hotel that lacks an atmosphere. Lovely room but the linen needs a serious makeover; it was not a 5* linen!! The room needs a coffee machine as at £300 a night and being offered coffee in the morning, was not expecting a €30 bill for a simple drink!!! A rip off! And

We booked this hotel as a treat for a special wedding anniversary ( which was not even mentioned/ recognised by the team at all.) . Though a pre arrival email did add in a ‘ romantic dinner’ ( no explanation why ) that we didn’t request for 100 euros ! Em… no thank you ! I travel extensively and stay in many 4/ 5 star hotels . Sadly DP did not deliver ! The most alarming thing is that I emailed my feedback directly to the hotel on the day of our departure and still have not received a response. That says to me ‘ we really don’t care ‘ …. The good… stunning building / good room ( tho small bathroom ) and some nice customer service moments, housekeeping lady was fab and front of house staff were mainly helpful and pleasant The bad… breakfast on our first day , we were ignored for 3/4 minutes, had to ask for our table to be laid . There was just one waiter . Uncleared tables , no scrambled eggs . Had to ask for more . If you wanted ‘ additional ‘ breakfast items like poached eggs / omelette this was an extra charge . A bit ridiculous when the only offer of hot food was bacon and scrambled eggs which were hard / cold or none existent !,, !! This is suppose to be 5 star…. Well it was THE worst breakfast offering/ experience I have experienced . The were no tea/ coffee facilities in the room . There no atmosphere in “ the bar “ and definitely not somewhere I would want to have dinner … actually I didn’t see anyone in bar / restaurant apart from breakfast time. I wish you could have done much better DP …you definitely under delivered in terms of our customer experience and your lack of response says it all . We loved Florence and will definitely return to the city but will not be returning to Dimora Palanca or recommending it .

Pretty property but the location is very loud and inconveniently located. The staff was very kind and efficient but I arrived around 7:00pm at the end of a very long drive to find that the kitchen was closed and there were no reservations to be had nearby. Settled for a pizza from the closest place, an hour round trip when you added waiting for the pizza. I resigned myself to a long bath instead only to find that the jets did not function. Not exactly the 5 star experience I was anticipating on my last night in Italy.

This Hotel is exceptionally beautiful….the building has been restored to its former glory, with lots of modern quirky additions. The staff are helpful and friendly and the Breakfast is plentiful. We got horribly lost trying to find it, but I’m so glad we did! A short easy walk to the centre of Florence.

I booked this hotel via *********** as it was a stunning setting and very highly rated by previous customers. Unfortunately my mother fell severely ill and I had to cancel my entire holiday to be with her during one of the most difficult times in our lives. The other hotels that I had pre booked understood this and were very accommodating. They cancelled my bookings with no charge under the circumstances however, Dimora Palanca refused stating; ‘It’s our policy’ and proceeded to charge me the full amount for the room booked. It’s extremely disappointing, that a 5 star hotel treats its guests going through a difficult time in this way. Whilst I would understand a cancellation charge being applied, I think charging you the full price of the booking without any negotiation is unacceptable. Will definitely avoid this hotel in future

Absolutely fantastic property about 15 min walk from center of town. Tastefully furnished, very high tech bathroom with sauna. We stayed in largest suite with our daughter. Beautiful interior garden, which our room faced. The rooms facing the main road might be a bit noisy although soundproofing was excellent. Very private feeling. Didnt see a lot of the other guests in the numerous common sitting rooms. They will be adding a fitness room in basement which is the only thing missing. And no safes in the room as far as we could tell, which was odd for hotel of this quality.
