Provalma

Stunning accommodation on a stunning island. Attention to detail is everything to Alexandra, Yiannis and their family. We had two studios for five nights. Both were elegant and comfortable, and had incredible views of the sea and nearby Chora. Great care had gone in to creating a tranquil garden and pool setting, which provides a colourful oasis as you look across the dry Folegandros hills towards the Chora. Delicious breakfasts are provided daily, including homemade pastries, cakes and jams. Yiannis and Alexandra were fantastic hosts. We were travelling with a baby and they went out of their way to make our stay as easy as possible. Our time at Provalma and Folegandros rates highly as one of our best holidays in Greece. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Yiannis and family.

Provalma is a delight! Hosts, Yiannis and Alexandra are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. It has majestic views at dawn, dusk and in between, viewed from our beautiful studio and terrace. The breakfast is generous and delicious, a great way to start the day. Folegandros has some fantastic walks and beaches, it was always refreshing to return to Provalma's gorgeous pool. We are already planning our return.

What an absolutely fantastic place to stay. Provalma is situated on a hillside a few km from Chora and very close to another town on the island, Ano Meria. Because of its location, it is very quiet and peaceful, without much noise or other disturbances. The rooms are very unique and beautiful. We stayed in the Aggali suite, which I recommend as it is detached from the other 4 or 5 suites and has more panoramic views, which, by the way, are absolutely stunning. I think the views from this hotel might be the best I have ever experienced. The bathroom is nice with a unique design, and the beds are very comfortable. Water pressure in the sink is great, and water pressure in the shower is not as strong, but I think considering the somewhat remote location, etc... it is very good, I am sure it is complicated to get high pressure to a location like this. Each morning, you fill out a room service card for your breakfast choices the next day and pick the time of delivery. Food was simple yet excellent, orange juice tastes fresh squeezed, and everything was delicious each day. There is a small pool with beautiful views while you lay there. Water is chilly but refreshing. Overall, we had a lovely time, and Yannis, the owner, was always very accommodating, offering free shuttle to and from the port and assisting us with calling local businesses, etc... I couldn't rate it more highly.

From the moment my husband and I were picked up at the Port, our 5 night stay at the fabulous Provalma was heavenly. We are lucky and have travelled and stayed in superb places, but this has to be high on the list! This gem, consisting of only 5 villas, is family run by the lovely Yiannes and his Mother. As with previous reviews, the Villas are spotless, the Breakfast is traditional homemade fare, served each morning in your Villa and the views from your terrace are breathtaking! Personally would recommend hiring a vehicle or Quad to get around, this beautiful unspoilt Island. Fabulous restaurants and traditional Greek atmosphere in the main village (Chora) relatively close by. Provalma is one of those few places you really just don’t want to leave. Already booked to return!!

I stayed at Provalma for three nights at the end of September. Everything was fantastic - one of the best places I’ve been to and for very reasonable prices. The accommodation was spacious, stylish and practical. The views from my apartment (and other parts of Provalma) were spectacular. They must be some of the best views on this beautiful island. It was a privilege to be able to sit on the terrace enjoying breakfast and to look out on the views, or to watch the sunset. The overall hospitality was excellent. From the pick up/drop off, to wholesome breakfasts, to the fact that everything has been so well thought through (everything just “works”!) to the sheer friendliness of the hosts. Folegandros is hilly, and there was only one restaurant open to speak of in the local village. Both of these points can be solved by car hire or organised use of the local bus network. It is a small beautiful and unspoilt island. This along with the excellent experience of Provalma meant that I was fortunate to enjoy such an authentic and memorable trip. Thank you Provalma for making it so special!

Provalma is absolutely the best place to stay on Folegandros. Where do I start. Firstly, Yiannis collected us from the smaller port after a private transfer from Milos. We had 2 rooms booked, (1 for myself and husband and the other for our daughter, son in law and our 3 year old grandson), both beautifully appointed and cleaned superbly every day. The home cooked breakfasts were absolutely delicious and there was a wide choice from fruits, yoghurts, breads, eggs, cheese pies, spanakopita, cakes and freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. The breakfast was delivered for you to enjoy on your verandah or in your room. Provalma sits high on a hill with stunning views and is far enough away from the Chora but close enough to visit regularly. There are a number of good places to eat close by and wonderful swimming beaches too. Yiannis was helpful from the first email I sent, and he was helpful until the day we left, returning us to the port to catch the ferry to Naxos. We loved our time on Folegandros and loved our stay at Provalma. We are from Australia and if we ever return to Folegandros, which we would love to, we will book here without hesitation. I strongly urge anyone thinking of staying here to definitely book. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent stay! Great location with breathtaking view and a short drive to the main village and the rest of the island. Hotel rooms were very nice, spacious and clean. Breakfast basket was delicious. We really enjoyed the overall hospitality.

Provalma delivers an exceptional experience from start to finish! Set atop a stunning hillside in Folegandros, the property is an oasis overlooking the Aegean in two directions. Every element of design has been considered from the lush gardens and beautiful pool area, to the restful and elegantly appointed rooms where Greek style, sophistication, and simplicity come together beautifully. Yiannis is an amazing host- he welcomed us warmly at the port, and provided us with excellent recommendations for hiking, beaches, and dining in the area. He made us feel right at home, like returning friends. Each room has a private terrace overlooking the hills and sea and every morning begins with a delicious and beautifully presented breakfast delivery, including Yiannis amazing cappucinos! You may never enjoy coffee quite as much after you've sipped Yiannis' morning coffee at Provalma. If you're looking for a truly special place to disconnect and savour Greece's stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality, plan a visit to Provalma. You will never forget it! We're already planning our next visit!

Amazing amazing location with the most incredible view near to lots of gorgeous beaches. Bedrooms beautifully decorated and immaculate. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and Yiannis was extremely helpful and welcoming. Would 100% recommend.
