The Estate House

Huge bed, Yorkshire tea and fresh milk in the room, gorgeous walk from the doorstep around the castle grounds, woodlands, and village. Debs and Bill made sure we had everything we needed, and their gentle terriers were on hand to make sure we enjoyed the top class breakfast.

Only stopped for one night whilst travelling up to complete the NC500 and this place punches well above its weight and is worthy of a longer stay. The hosts are excellent, friendly, chatty and full of information about the area and where to visit. The atmosphere upon arrival to leaving is very welcoming and although we didn't have an evening meal (but wished we did), the breakfast was outstanding. Rooms are plush and comfortable and the hotel is in a blissfully quiet location so you will get a great nights sleep.

We visited today with our family. We were told it was busy and we’d be waiting around 30 min for food. We were fine with this. We were given drinks after about 10 min and were told they’d be back for our food order in 5 min. After sitting for an hour still no one had come to take our order. We decided to leave as we were visiting with 2 disabled family members including 4 children who were getting hungry, with it now being after 2pm. When my step mother went to tell the serving lady we were leaving, the lady serving passed on the message to the kitchen. The lady working in the kitchen was heard to say ‘I’m not really bothered’. Whilst the lady serving my was apologetic, we felt this was incredibly rude. On top of that my autistic son because upset that we were now leaving when he thought he was having his lunch there. Overall a really rubbish experience - we won’t be back. No discount offered on the drinks either….

We had a very comfortable stay in this friending B&B, where the owners were caring and kind. Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious. Extremely good value and well placed for exploring this lovely part of our coast.

Hidden treasure. A warm welcome and beautiful surroundings. Gorgeous food served in the idyllic garden. Pet friendly. Highly recommended. We stopped for snacks but it is also a beautiful Guesthouse. Next time we are in the area we will definitely stay..

The estate house is rather off the beaten track, but well worth the visit. Ford Village has a hint of Miss Marple with a sprinkle of Lord of the Rings. The guest house itself is a rambling place with a lovely garden, of which lovely views are afforded from the breakfast room. Nearby is a splendid church yard with its rookery and the arresting Ford castle. The proprietors are accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was hearty and tasty, including English haggis. A top notch guest house with a difference.
