Botania Relais & Spa - the Leading Hotels of the World

The hotel was an oasis of calm from the moment we arrived. Gorgeous room with a sea view and quiet at night so we slept like babies the whole time. There are beautiful tended gardens, organic vegetable patches and green spaces around the hotel and little private plunge pool areas to enjoy if you want a little more privacy. The main pool is fabulous and heated to 28 degrees. You can swim before breakfast and all day if you wish! Food and restaurants are high quality and there are some great restaurants in the local town of Forio to choose from. The staff here are what really sets this hotel apart. Everything works like clockwork for the guests and all the while, the hotel is discreetly running behind the scenes. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and couldn’t praise this one enough. Congratulations to the owners for getting it so right and although we usually prefer to keep experiencing new places, the Botania Relias is a hotel we have to come back to.

This is one of our favorite places we have EVER stayed. Everything about it was top notch. We stayed 4 nights in a deluxe room that had a huge terrace and fantastic view (including the sea in the distance, and could also see some of the produce growing at the farm). Our favorite aspects were the food, spa, natural beauty, staff & free shuttle service. We loved the breakfast each morning, a wide-ranging buffet (so fresh!), plus eggs made to order. Check out the coffee-infused yogurt; had never seen THAT before! We had a few lunches by the pool, and 2 dinners: 1 at Il Mirto and also at the other, more traditional dinner restaurant. Il Mirto is a vegetarian experience we'll never forget (and we are not vegetarians). The creativity, presentations, explanations & tastes were amazing. Spa was the best! We both had wonderful massages, and we also went to the spa each day for the Turkish bath (steam, in a huge stone igloo-shaped room) and for the best warm-water pool with powerful jets and waterfalls (for the back and shoulders) that we've ever been in. And we always had this all to ourselves! Nadia at the spa desk was extremely welcoming and helpful. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to go to the towns of Forio & Lacco Ameno, to Negombo thermal park & beach (a bit disappointing, SO crowded), and to the nearby gardens (fantastic). The driver also gave us great advice for other outings and restaurants. The staff at the restaurants, reception, customer services, and the drivers within the complex were all so nice too. This place was extremely hard to leave!

My husband and I stayed at the Botania Relais for our honeymoon and we had an absolutely wonderful experience! The grounds of the property were beautifully maintained, and the gardens on site were incredible. Our room was extremely comfortable and clean, with a nice private balcony. The location is within walking distance of a free beach and one of the island’s many thermal parks. A shuttle service was also provided to 2 nearby towns. We took advantage of many of the hotel’s offerings including the spa, pool, and Il Grotto Bar - everything was exquisite. We also took the morning yoga class and our instructor was lovely. It was a great addition to our stay! The complimentary breakfast offered each morning was outstanding and some of the freshest, most delicious food we had on our whole trip. We had lunch and dinner on premises as well and those meals were equally delicious. Of all the wonderful elements of the Botania Relias, the people were the best. Each person working at the hotel was so welcoming and accommodating. The Guest Relations specialist Titti was outstanding and provided us with excellent recommendations for restaurants and activities around the island. She graciously answered our many questions and ensured we made the most of the time in Ischia. I would highly recommend Botania Relias to anyone staying in Ischia! -Stephanie and John Paxos

Very beautiful property and very nice staff. Food was amazing. Spa was excellent. Gym was very small and air conditioning was set at a fixed temperature, according to the hotel this was due to regulations in Italy however this was the only hotel where we experienced this in all of Italy. Bedding was not change despite multiple requests to have this done, but overall it was a very nice, pleasant and relaxing stay.

Property was lovely. Staff was so kind and welcoming and the food was delicious. The only issue was that the a/c was set at 23 degrees and it was not possible to set it any lower due to “Italian government regulations” however we did not encounter these “regulations” at any other hotel in all of Italy. Also the bedding was not changed at all during our stay despite us requesting it. The same coffee stay was on the sheets the entire time. Aside from these issues it was all around a very nice stay and it was an extremely relaxing atmosphere and a terrific spa facility although the gym was very small.

This is one of the most magical and beautiful hotels that I have stayed in. The staff is amazing, the amenities are stellar and the property is beautiful - a botanical garden that is so beautifully laid out. We wanted for nothing and felt like we could simply stay on the resort and be be happy. I recommend this place highly. Ask for Onofrio at the bar/ restaurant. He's lovely - everyone is so kind and thoughtful

My wife and I spent five nights at the Botania and loved it. The grounds, landscaping, facilities and our room were beautiful and very thoughtfully designed (couldn’t get over the huge rosemary bushes all over the place!). Staff was so kind and helpful. Food was all excellent- from the breakfast and lunch to the amazing dinner at Il Mirto. The hotel does not have a private beach, which concerned me before arriving, but it was not an issue at all. The most beautiful beach on the Island is within walking distance, and it has chairs, umbrellas, food, etc. Bring mosquito repellent since there are some in area, but not an issue once you have the spray on. We can’t wait to return!

This quiet spa hotel is simply stunning. The rooms superb, beds sooooo comfortable, clean and fresh. The grounds are magnificent, easy access to Lacco Ameno and San Montano beach. The area would be a problem if you had mobility issues as it is quite hilly. The staff are so kind and friendly always willing to help. Food was superb, terrific breakfast choice and variety of foods for dinner. Mustn’t forget the pool, amazing. A fabulous hotel to relax and forget everything!

Superb hotel located over several levels on a hillside. On-call buggies if needed. The hotel always seems quiet because of extensive grounds, which are well maintained. There is an excellent main pool, an adequate indoor gym for cardo and an outdoor gym for strength work located near the top of one of the hills. There is also an excellent Spa with an indoor pool and steam room. Gratis yoga classes are held most mornings. Different restaurants and bars open at different times of day. The food is of high quality if a little on the pricey side. There is an expresso-only coffee machine in the room. All staff are well-trained and English is widely spoken. From the hotel it is a short walk down hill to Lacco Ameno and its local restaurants and shops. We plan to return next year.
