Hotel Grazia Alla Scannella

An absolute fantastic place to stay on the island of Ischia. The hotel staff were incredible and the food was delicious. Stunning views from the pool deck. They rooms were impeccably maintained as was the entire hotel. The front desk staff, especially Michele were so incredibly helpful. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. We definitely plan to come back

Very comfortable, very clean hotel with stunning views. Biggest drawback I found is I did not realize the hotel does not have beach access. If you are in good shape there is a great place to swim about a half hour walk and 200 steps down. Staff were a mixed bag of super friendly and helpful to some being rude and ignoring you and shouting at you for sitting at the wrong table in the dining room. The food both in the restaurant and lunch place is quite tasty. They do have a shuttle bus from the hotel to nearby touristy beach.

If you are looking for relaxation then yes this hotel is a good bet. There are pros and cons but for us we were disappointed in the food, the noise levels and the customer care. Pros...... Lovely location Nice pool & terrace with views Plenty of sunbeds Rooms a little tired but spotless Free bus to cetera beach & Forio Cons...... Food. Very very repetitive (dare I say it almost school dinner-ish). Same antipasti every single night Main meals a choice of fish/veal/etc but always served with the same mini roast potatoes + cauliflower or carrots. As a Brit this is not what I want on my holiday!! I would have liked to have seen more Italian authentic dishes ie, pizza or a big lasagna for example maybe a barbecue or a themed night. By day 4 we were itching to get out and eat somewhere else. Desserts were nice though. Breakfast - again.....same every single day. A big table laid out with croissants, some cereals, a thing to make your own boiled egg and scrambled egg. No bacon, sausage etc. Salad though!? Disappointed that orange juice was not freshly squeezed and just the awful powdered variety. Things like that can make a big difference. Lunch - obviously you were limited because there is nothing around at all so you have no choice but to eat in the hotel. Again same thing every day - would have been nice to have more lighter options ie, more sandwich choice etc. Atmosphere - waiting staff a bit stiff and we did not find them particularly friendly. Bar staff were friendly though. Very very noisy hotel at night. Be careful of where your room is located - ours & fellow British were put in rooms over the restaurant so were woken every day from 6am with clattering about and noise. The beds are rock hard so do be aware of this if you have back issues. Spa - unfortunately not the quality of a British Spa and expensive for what it was. The indoor pool also really needed some money spent on it - walls peeling etc. For me in general it needed updating. Overall though we had a nice relaxing break somewhere different. The views are amazing from the hotel!! Do make use of the free bus and go to Cetera beach which is lovely but be warned its expensive - €42 for 2 beds + parasol. Needless to say we only went there once!!! We used the bus to go into Forio one night for dinner which was great and a look in the shops. We also had a day out to Capri which was great! Be warned Capri is expensive but fab place to people watch and sip a drink! We also took a boat trip around the island whilst there and found it really interesting. Enjoy! X

This hotel in Ischia is superb. The quality of the service and of the food is hard to match. The location is a Mediterranean dream. The swimming pool is placed on a terrace in front of the see at a height of about 200 m from the sea level. One of the best hotels I have ever seen. I appreciated this hotel for the good quality of the services in relation to the price. The business facility located inside the hotel provide the possibility of using two PC and a printer which can also be used as a scanner. I found these capabilities very useful during my business trip to Santa Barbara. The breakfast is also very good and the people very nice and willing to help.

If we were hotel critics we would give this hotel the 5th star. The food was some of the best we have ever eaten. The cream lemon cake was so good that we wanted to marry the chef, but also the masseuse. The location is second to none, the pools and gardens are just excellent, brilliant service from the whole team. Not saying all of the good things which could be mentioned as we would like to keep this hotel exclusive - we are planning to come back very soon. Mille grazie.

Hotel is in a peaceful location some distance from the beach/town but with a convenient shuttle service. Spa facilities are great. Rooms a bit dated but clean and well equipped. The food and service are excellent. Overall a great place to stay.

Lovely hotel off the beaten track, it was like going back in time. Service was good, good was very good and the views were to die for. Shuttle to the town or beach was free. The thermal pool was lovely especially late in the afternoon. Some evening entertainment. We would return in a heartbeat!

We spent 5 days at the hotel Grazia in October. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The staff were kind, gracious and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is clean and well kept, the food and service was excellent. Views from the hotel were magnificent. I found the shuttle bus service into the town very helpful. I was sad to leave and wished I could have stayed longer.
