What a lovely place to escape to. Spacious room, with lounge space, dresding table/desk and very comfortable bed, deep bath, big walk In shower. Wardrobe/storage ample and child friendly. Playpen size cot for our toddler. Breakfast is self service buffet and also menu to order from. I would like to thank staff who were attentive and really add to the experience. Evening meals a la carte menu and menu for less adventorous: all very well thought out.. . Some evening entertainment on hotel grounds. The grounds has a leafy "playground" and Spa facilities and a "secret garden" door, wea your trainers for that 🤭 Sip your iced beverage on the veranda or relax in the library (my favorite part of the hotel). Take your young ones to storiy time in the library with cookies and milk. Or relax in one of the lounges the decor/atmosphete alone will relax your mind. I recomnend as a family/solo/romantic because Fowey Hall Hotel is as charming as the town within walking distance. The Fowey Hall Hotel has enough nooks/lounge areas for each type of traveller.

The hotel & the grounds are beautiful but the hotel lacks good customer service, we arrived after booking the 2 bedroom family room to find cake and water left in fridge from the residents before us and no fresh for ourselves and then to get into bed to find dirty sheets on bed, which had clearly not been changed, totally disappointing and didn’t put me In the right mindset. The room didn’t feel clean, in which you expect when you stay in a hotel. Would I return… no I wouldn’t because it’s over priced for the service you receive, food took a long time to come , the service wasn’t consistent and the cleanliness didn’t tick it for us. The positives were the swimming pool, the house itself was beautiful along with the grounds which were stunning and the children enjoyed that but for the price you pay you expect luxury…

We’ve been visiting this hotel for over 16 years and have watched it change over time. Sadly, our most recent visit was the most disappointing we’ve ever experienced, enough so that we ended our stay early. The setting, as always, is stunning. But the quality of service, comfort, and consistency has declined sharply, while prices continue to rise. It's no longer the welcoming, well-managed hotel we once looked forward to. Our arrival was made stressful by a kitchen delivery van completely blocking the entrance. The driver refused to move at first , making a poor first impression that unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the stay. I informed the reception team who seem disinterested. The room we were allocated was nothing like the photos, cramped, outdated, and uncomfortable. The bed was poor quality, and the room lacked ventilation. After a restless, unpleasant night, we made the decision to leave, something we’ve never done before. Breakfast was another low point. Basic items like croissants and pain au chocolat had run out, and the apple juice dispenser was incorrectly filled with orange juice. These small details reflect a lack of care we never used to experience here. Dinner on the first night was a complete letdown. We waited over half a hour to order, a further half hour for our food, with little communication throughout. A drinks order was never taken. Another table celebrating a birthday received noticeably better service, while we were left feeling forgotten. When my starter did arrive, I had to send back the sourdough to be toasted properly. There was no senior staff in sight to take control, and I had to go to the front desk to complain, something I never imagined doing at a place we once loved. Finally drinks on the house were offered. Shockingly, one of the badminton rackets broke mid-swing, the head flew off and nearly hit me. It was not only disappointing but potentially dangerous. I reported and handed to reception, asking for another racquet. I was told they were by the net. No further rackets to be seen so our game of badminton came to an abrupt end. What’s most frustrating is the inconsistency in how guests are treated. Reading other reviews, it’s clear that some people, particularly celebrities or influencers, are offered complimentary stays or receive exceptional treatment. After 16 years of loyalty, all we were offered was a small discount on the room rate , despite paying full price for a very poor dinner and lackluster service. We don’t expect special treatment but we do expect fair, consistent service for all guests. It shouldn’t take a social media following to be looked after properly. This used to be a place we genuinely loved. We truly hope management listens because unless things improve dramatically, we won’t be returning and that’s incredibly disappointing to say after so many years.

Went for a relaxing time to use spa facilities...no changing rooms except disabled one, which seemed was in use with a family changing for a long time.No other toilets...There was nowhere to leave belongings by indoor pool and floor, chairs all soaking.Unfortunaly was a wet day so couldn't put belongings down outside. Was promised a refund in full by4 working days. That hasn't happened and got nowhere on the phone...Surely not that difficult to return refund promised...We were only there about 15mins!Nearly a hundred mile trip and a day off booked from work..Two very disappointed ladies who are out of pocket!Hope this matter resolved soon...Awaiting to hear from you, thankyou.

We stayed in a Deluxe room with a view. The room was a gorgeous modern big room with a very nice bathroom, we also had a small balcony. Definitely a great accommodation. The reception staff isn't particularly welcoming, they are more on the reserved side which is a shame. The spa was amazing, we loved the steam room and the relaxing balcony with a gorgeous view. I had a massage with Antonia, she was amazing and very professional, highly recommended her, she left me feeling very relaxed. The hotel is geared towards families with kids but that didn't bother us at all. We look forward to coming back.

Had afternoon tea. Very disappointed. Tea arrived before everything else so was cold by the time the food arrived. The sandwiches were awful. Not sure what they were supposed to be. Two had cucumber and some kind of sauce in and the other had red pepper and green leaves in. The bread was soggy and tasteless. The scones were nice but only a small dish of jam and cream was provided for 4 scones. The cakes didn't get any better. A small lemon tart with hard pastry, a slice of Swiss roll with cream on top and a small piece of cherry cake. Very expensive for what you got.

A couple in our 50’s, our kids brought us a two night break as a gift. We loved the hotel and would definitely stay again and recommend to others. The location is fantastic and we had a lovely view of Fowey harbour. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, even printed off walking routes for us. We did the circular walk from Fowey to Polruan including two ferries which we would recommend. Food and cocktails were delicious and we found our room and all facilities exceptionally clean and tidy. It is a family hotel, other guests with children and dogs but this was not a problem for us. Even when our morning was rained off we enjoyed a game of pool and table tennis so definitely plenty to do.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The hotel has great facilities, our room was lovely - the bed was super comfortable - and the surroundings are great. However there were a few things that let it down for me. It was booked as a surprise anniversary trip - a spa hotel - after a particularly difficult week following a bereavement. The room we were in was above the pool and although lovely was very noisy (we were also surrounded in rooms filled with kids who started slamming doors at 7am - we have a child but had left her with the grandparents so as to get a break). The bed was two pushed together which I never like but that’s personal preference. I tried to book a spa treatment before I arrived leaving a couple of messages / my calls weren’t returned. Then when we returned to the hotel after an afternoon out visiting a friend in Fowey (got back at 8.45pm) planning to have room service, we were told there was no food available. So we ended up with a plate of cheese having had nothing all day. In short the hotel has everything aesthetically right but the customer service and the fact we were in a room that is lovely but didn’t give us the opportunity to relax let it down.
