Mont d'Or Franschhoek

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Situated in a lovely quiet street parallel to, and just three minutes walk to many of the shops and restaurants in the main street. Easy parking either at the front or in the street behind the premesis (there's a back gate). (Just make sure your car is pointing in the right direction.) We had a front ground-level twin room. It's an old building (1876) and there is necessarily some compromise between character and modern convenience. Whether they have that exactly right is debatable. There was not much storage space: the hangers had to be positioned at 45 deg to fit in the thin period wardrobe also partly occupied by a fridge. I felt there was enough space in the bathroom to have had a hinged door in a nice frame rather than the rickety sliding door provided. I greatly appreciated the peaceful, simple breakfast buffet after the chaotic scrum of some of the big hotels in Cape Town. There are hot items cooked fresh to order, all served on the lovely garden terrace. Friendly and helpful staff.

Beautiful, peaceful boutique hotel with very friendly, helpful service and a delicious fresh breakfast. This stay was such a wonderful experience after a dreadful Capetown Airbnb experience. Also walking distance to Franschoek wine tram terminal and a block from the shops and restaurants of Franschoek. Refreshing pool to dunk in after a full day of wine tasting!

We stayed her for 2 days in January and absolutely loved it. Wish I had booked for longer. Perfect location. Room was amazing with French Doors onto patio overlooking the pool. We are planning another trip next year and would definitely book here again. Lovely hosts and amazing breakfasts.

This was a lovely boutique B&B, The room was very spacious and clean. The pool area was equally very good and relaxing. The breakfast was very nice and all the staff and management were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Mont d'Or as a place to stay in Franschhoek, it is very central and everything is within walking distance. If you visiting Franschhoek I would also reccomend the Wine Tram as it is an excellent way of visiting the local wineries.

3 nights in Mont d’Or is not long enough, fabulous location, fabulous honeymoon suit, fabulous breakfast, 100m to the Main Street yet amazingingly quiet and relaxed. Lance is a fountain of knowledge of local attractions, cafes, restaurants and wine farms. Thanks to you Lance and your fab team.

What a lovely hotel, it felt family ran. The team could not do enough for us. Location: One street off the main road midway great location. All bars and restaurants in a very short walking distance and the Wine tram about 10-15mins walk. Room: Very comfortable and spacious, we had a couple of issues with no hot water which was dealt with quickly and no water but that was the whole town and out of the hotels control. Breakfast/Facilities: Breakfast was continental style and you order hot food as well. Plenty of choice and didn’t disappoint it was lovely and great service. There was a lovely garden and pool as well as somewhere to iron your clothes. If I’m ever in the area again I will most definitely looking to stay here.

The locaties is perfect, near to the main road with it shops en restaurant and near to the wine tram. French connection is a very good restaurant, nearby mont d’or. Good breakfast outside, beautiful pool. We had room 5 with a terras

This property is in a fantastic location, being nice and central to restaurants and cafes on the Main Street. The staff were very friendly and provided great service. The room itself was pretty average (but spacious), especially given the price - it was quite old, with squeaky floors. The bed was a bit short (not an issue for us but if you’re taller it would be a bit small) and the shower did not have a curtain or door, allowing water to get all over the bathroom floor. The grounds of the hotel were nice with the breakfast by the pool area and garden.

Fabulous stay, great location. Only one street back from the Main Street, and 10 minute walk to the wine tram. Lovely hospitality, so friendly, made to feel at home straight away. Pretty garden, quiet with a relaxed atmosphere. Delicious breakfast, good choice. Room very spacious and clean.
