Knoll Hill Farm, the Place to Stay

A traditional farm house offering a warm welcome and a homely environment. Pleasant rooms in a beautiful rural setting. The breakfast was fabulous. Great local, high quality produce cooked really well and served in a lovely conservatory/breakfast room. Highly recommend.

My partner had booked a surprise visit to Longleat, stopping over two nights at A Place To Stay in Frome. A delight from the first cheerful hello to the friendly goodbye. We arrived at reception and were guided through guest house information by a pleasantly friendly Lady. My partner was not in the rudest of health but the place was warm and welcoming, and immediately made her feel better. The room had all comforts, and we were kept warm through a very cold night. Bed was comfortable, pillows equally so, and tea, coffee and biscuits provided. The whole area including bathroom, in fact the whole house was spotless and had been dressed in Christmas finery. Next morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast courteously of the lovely Jos who was clearly used to guests and clearly enjoyed their visits. We were wished a lovely day as we set off and enquiries made as to our endeavours next morning whilst enjoying another super breakfast. A must if you're in the area. Nowhere else would quite match up.

What a wonderful place Joss and staff were brilliant. Room really clean and breakfast was absolutely amazing. Out in the countryside surrounded by various animals and birds. Staff were amazing couldn’t do enough. Answered all questions. Will try and stay again

Wonderful 3 day stay. Joss and the team couldn’t do enough for their guests and were very knowledgeable about the local area. The room was quirky, with a lovely comfortable bed and fluffy pillows and the bathroom was massive with a bath and walk in shower. Plenty of tea and coffee plus biscuits in the room too. The breakfast room is lovely and the cooked breakfast was delicious. The grounds are beautiful but unfortunately we didn’t see much of the view as the weather was awful! We ate at the local pub which is a 5 minute walk away and Sam the landlord and chef, also cooks the breakfast at the guest house as both locations are run by family. Would definitely stay again

Upon arrival the views were beautiful, the staff friendly and checking in easy. We were led to our room in the main house small but pleasant and mainly clean. We went out for dinner and when we returned I sat on the bed, the slats all moved and popped out, causing me to fall through. Upon inspection their was a slat missing, we called the number and was immediately moved to another room. This room was in the courtyard. No dressing table to do make up, we had an early night as their televisions was so small we couldn't watch them. Unfortunately we were right next to the gravelled drive, every time a car came in and out it or if someone walked passed it was really noisy. The bed creaked and groaned all night long I was so worried it would also break, which also kept us awake most of the night. Breakfast was lovely, very well cooked, staff very polite and welcoming.

Such a lovely place to stay, wanted to stay longer, hosts are gorgeous! Bed very comfortable bedding like sleeping on a cloud. Breakfast amazing, so fresh! A really "homey" house to stay in with lots of character. Lovely to see the animals and the chickens look as happy as I was ! Can't wait to come back.
