Morningstar Buoy Haus Beach Resort at Frenchman's Reef, Autograph Collection

This booking is a total rip-off from the beginning to end. 1.Make sure you have free cancelation because you will surely use it. 2. Just know that there are extensive hidden fees including paying for paddle boarding, scuba diving, etc whether you use them or not all guest are required to pay at the end amongst other things. 3.Customer Service was horrific from beginning to end starting with long check in wait times without any acknowledgement also don't expect them to initially fill you in on the astronomical fees that they tack on in the end.Also, upon finding out they placed me on a ground level floor facing all the foot traffic opposite of any ocean or scenic views, I was promised a room change the following day which never happened for the duration of my stay. 4. Room service surprisingly came to my room at 8pm inquiring about service which was bizarre. 5.Food is insanely expensive including room servic delivery. I paid almost $50 for a small sized pizza at the low end restaurant.Free Breakfast which was listed upon booking as well as on my receipt was anything but free so be where.They told me upon checkout it is only $80 but there is nowhere stating that information. One hostess at Salt shack told me it would would be a 20minute wait for breakfast or I can try a buffet upstairs but after walking in the hotsun upstairs there was no buffet or restaurant and so the 20 minute wait continued. 6.Overall hiddeen fees were were astronomical.This is a 2star rating at best.i hate that I chose this place for my stay it was a total rip off!

The stay was phenomenal! Karimah was extremely professional, did an amazing job from start to finish and truly ensured that that our stay was one to remember. She provided great customer service, recommendations on where to go and what to do and shared everything that the hotel has to offer. The hotel grounds are beautiful and the rooms are large and the sound is so peaceful. We definitely will be back again!

This resort was at the top of my list. Everything about it was perfect. The restaurants were so delicious. The closeness of the water to the rooms made it so easy to just step outside the room and be on the beach. I loved the theme of the resort. The black and white colors and the boutique feel of the smaller size. I’m already planning my return trip!

MY Stay here was absolutely exceptional. Chefs kiss! Loved every single day at Buoy Haus. The privae beach is beautiful, the food is all glorious at ever restaraunt, the pool is beautiful. Me and my lady even snuck in the pool after hours around 1am and no one bothered us. shhhh!! This is the kicker.... I wanted to do a fishing excursion then come back and have my catch cooked for me on the beach. I knew this would knock my ladies socks off. Knema Willett was adament about making it all happen for me even though i tried to put this together only one day before my trip. She stayed on top of everything even with me not having a signal on the plane and even with her being off the day I arrived she was very adament about getting in touch with me in multiple ways (phone, email and calling my room phone) and coordinating everything betwwen the captain of the boat and the head chef at Luna Mar which prepared my catch and sides for me and my lady. She gave suggestions to all of the best restaraunts and the local beach and scene for us to party with the locals. Ms. Willett was my go to but the entire staff was friendly and helped with everything I needed. Even the occasional watch out for this or that when giving suggestions, showing they cared for our safety and well being. This was one of my best trips ever. Thank you Knema for going the extra mile for me. As men they want us to do all the plannig and yu my dear made my experience so easy. Thank you thank you thank you so much

We retuned from St Thomas a week ago and here is the running pro/con list I kept while staying at Buoy Haus: Pros: -Friendly and helpful front desk staff and bell persons -Very comfortable room, AC greeted us after a long travel day and the subsequent days that the sun ****** the energy out of us. -We actually liked the food at both Salt Shack and Sandbar despite the bad reviews we saw on different sites. There’s a watermelon salad at Sandbar I’m still thinking about. -The beach is gorgeous. The sand is clean, the water is clear, and there’s very little seaweed. There are waves which I love. -The pool is very relaxing and it’s nice that it’s only for Buoy Haus guests. -We never had to wait more than a few minutes for the shuttle to the Westin or for a taxi when we went off property. Cons: -Bugs. I think this is a St Thomas thing but we got bitten all over despite wearing repellent and wearing repellent bracelets. -Beach chairs are SO close together and there were a couple of days where we were near some very loud talkers. Not relaxing at all. This is on the guests really. -The entry into the water in the shared beach was very rocky the first couple of days. The entryway into the water in the Buoy Haus guest only section is much better but this area is also where the public beach is so it doesn’t seem as secure. After the rain, sand seemed to come in so it was much better. -Could use a sundry store so you didn’t have to go to the Westin. -I know smokers are persona non grata nowadays but we do exist. It would be nice to not be banished to the parking lot and if we are at least give us space in the shade and maybe a bench. I don’t think that’s too much to ask. Overall, we loved our vacation at Buoy Haus and are already planning our next trip.

This place was amazing. The staff was the best we have ever encountered and everything we experienced was amazing. Free rum drinks in the lobby each day, free bottled water, and every restaurant we ate at was excellent. We can't wait to go back. If you are going to stay on this Island, this is the best place to stay.

a year old boutiquish autograph collection hotel that hits a lot of right notes resort fee that covers easy access to cats, snorkels, yaks, and sups with an infinity pool that curves its way around to a swim up bar and a decent beach that feels plenty exclusive the bars don't start till 11am but they serve up a tall welcome cruzan rum punch and when the tenders do get going they have good beers on tap and decent punches the rooms are nice sized modern beachy florida style at night the tikis light up everywhere and sure head to isla blue - its not great grub but its got a great view its hooked to the westin which looks like a public housing complex by comparison - efficient i guess for wrong missy type office outings but definitely lacking any island style. the westin even has lounge chairs floating in the murky pools and half eaten convention meals festering here and there oh and the buoy haus staff add the overall positive island vibe at the morningstar - all helpful smiling and welcoming its obviously not a top tier 5 star boutique hotel but it's really a great spot to stop in usvi and possibly the best

Loveliest pristine beach ever, golden sand, clear warm water, perfect for swimming, not at all crowded. Snorkeling day on the hotel catamaran was exceptional, beautiful fish and coral. Beach front room was super lux, infinity pool a dream. Loved Sugarfish up at the Westin for sunset cocktails and sushi, everyone SO friendly, can’t wait to return 🌊🏝️⛱️

Wonderful resort in the Frenchman’s Reed area of St. Thomas. We had a spacious villa overlooking the greenery which I would say comfortable slept 5. The restaurants had great options for food and the bars were wonderful. Thanks Dee for being a great hostess/bartender. Everyone is VERY attentive to all of your needs and I would definitely come back. Big plus: you can use all of the facilities of the Westin next door and just a short walk away.
