It was a wonderful experience of good food n service. Even provided us Yukiko who can speak English to serve us at meal time.
The only flaw is that their futons do not have a supporting mattress . For the last night the cotton in the futon is not enough to support me for a good night’s rest 🥲

Hotel is incredibly cool! Located quite far from Kawaguchico station, but I would recommend to take a walk to it - the way takes about 25-30 minutes and it is very relaxing with fantastic views of Fuji. For the way back, if it’s needed, after check out you can take a free transfer bus to the station. We took a room in traditional style, and it is amazing experience! Kaiseki supper and breakfast are exciting, service is excellent! Public bath is not tattoo friendly, so we couldn’t use it, but we booked private bath while checking in and it was a great experience as well.
Hotel has an observation roof where you can see both Fuji and Kawaguchiko lake. I wish we have stayed for longer, but had not much time and booked only one night.

Excellent hotel although old, but with the service and nice dinner and breakfast, it's definitely worth a try.
It has 3 different types of onsen (indoor - i didn't try it), open air (facing 2 sides - 1 towards lake and the other 1 towards Mt Fuji, but do bear in mind they switch by gender the next day), and also 1 more onsen bath at my room (for my room type).
So we enjoyed the onsen session. We even paid for the private onsen (facing Mt Fuji) but it's not as good as the open air public one, but still ok due to the privacy.
Staffs are indeed very kind and friendly.

A bit pricey, but the view is decent. The onsen area is small, and the hotel feels a bit traditional and old. The food is mediocre and does not meet high standards. Overall, it's not really worth the price.

Hotel was for from Kawaguchi go station. Staff service was excellence. Most of staff can speak English which was great. However amenity was abit unclear from picture. Bath was too small, could not fit me.

Maruei is a traditional ryokan which sleep on tatami. The room is exactly like picture. We enjoy our spacious, neat and clean room. The room was sanitized daily as well. The room we choose have a private round-shaped bathtub. The hotel also equipped with public bath in 1st and 5th floor (opened-air bath) but we didn't have time to try it out. The water pressure is good. Both hot and cold drinking water are provided in room. We were treated like VVIP. The staffs are kind and friendly. We stayed with half boarded. The breakfast and dinner are delicious. We have our dinner in a desinated room which boost the privacy. Overall, we very enjoy the stay.

disappointed ! we had booking 2 nights but we just stayed one night and left!Hotel too old no facilities are provided! living room hot Watergate is out of ordered and repaired when we arrived. The meal is bad .Hot sping also is old! only one is well .all the staffs are kind!
