KOKO STAY Shonan Fujisawa - formerly Hotel Wing International Shonan Fujisawa

The hotel has a very charming, retro vibe, and even the keys are unique. You can pick up toiletries yourself by the elevator on the first floor. The room is small, perfect for a solo traveler, but it has all the necessary amenities. There's a convenience store right downstairs and it's super close to the train station, making the location incredibly convenient. My only complaint is that breakfast was a bit of a letdown – just some bread and tea bags, unfortunately.

When I first entered the room, there was a strong smell of smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room, and the facilities were quite old and dated. However, besides that, there weren't many downsides. It offers excellent value for money and is suitable for short stays. The hotel is right above a 7-Eleven, and it's just a 3-minute walk from Fujisawa Station. The lobby has a free beverage bar with a wide variety of drinks, which is quite impressive for a hotel of its caliber in Japan. They also provide various disposable amenities and even offer free rental of eco-friendly shopping bags. The free breakfast consists of different types of individually wrapped pastries. While there are no hot dishes, it's free, and having seven or eight options to choose from is still great. (I saw an old Japanese man sneakily grabbing several pastries and putting them in his bag. Even though it's free bread, a little decorum would be nice…)

The hotel is quite old, similar to a budget hotel. It's very close to the subway station. There's a large supermarket and restaurants like Saizeriya nearby, making it convenient for getting around and dining.

Our flight was cancelled due to heavy fog at the airport, so I called the hotel to see if we could cancel our reservation. The hotel manager was really unhelpful and basically said it wasn't their problem and there was no way they'd cancel it. Hah.
