WeBase Hakata Hostel

We stayed at WeBase Hakata for 5 consecutive nights. The hotel front desk staff were very friendly and approachable, and speaking Chinese was a great help to us. They even provided a Chinese guide with check-in instructions. The hotel is a standalone building, and you need to use your room key card to operate the elevator, ensuring good security. We stayed in a compact, non-smoking twin room (604) with a desk, chair, and safe. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and bath towels and slippers were provided. Personal items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, and razors need to be brought by guests or purchased at an additional cost. Room cleaning operates on a reservation basis, requiring booking before 11 AM on the day. On the 6th floor where we stayed, there was a women's-only restroom and a co-ed restroom, both with three washbasins. The fixtures were clean and well-maintained. On the 1st floor, the public laundry room has three washing machines and three dryers. Each wash costs 200 yen, and 30 minutes of drying costs 100 yen. The prices are reasonable, and the facilities are open all day. The public showers on the 2nd floor are separated by gender and have many private cubicles. Shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are provided, and the water pressure was excellent. The only downside was that the shower stalls were a bit small and cramped. Staff regularly cleaned them, always keeping them spotless. The rooftop 9th floor features a public lounge area, offering free breakfast and hot and cold beverages. It's equipped with an induction cooker, oven, microwave, refrigerator, pots, pans, and basic seasonings like oil, salt, and soy sauce, allowing guests to prepare simple meals. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to Reisen Park. We walked 1km from Hakata Station to reach it. There are various convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants nearby. It's a 2-minute walk (100m) to Exit 7 of Nakasu-Kawabata Subway Station, 150m to Kawabata Shopping Arcade, and 300m to Kushida Shrine. Canal City Hakata and Tenjin Shopping Street are also within walking distance. We truly appreciate the hotel's thoughtful service, which made our trip to Fukuoka wonderful and enjoyable. We visited the Fukuoka Art Museum, the free observation deck at Hakata Port Tower, Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, and explored Keya no Ohto Pillar Joint Rocks and the Meoto Iwa (Married Couple Rocks) at Itoshima. We also savored various local delicacies such as premium Wagyu beef, seafood donburi, and Kurobuta pork and chicken tempura – we can't get enough of it! We absolutely love Fukuoka and hope to have the chance to visit again during spring or autumn.
