Henn na Hotel Fukuoka Hakata

The restaurant offers different items at different times. There's a self-service onigiri machine where you press a button and a rice ball comes out, and you can add toppings like mentaiko salmon and seaweed yourself. Milk is also available, along with a beverage machine. There are two types of bread. They also have ice cream, but the seating is a bit small, so if you come late, you might have to stand. Plus, there are three types of cookies and self-serve shaved ice. There's also a shuttle bus to Itoshima, which is very convenient.

Here's what I liked: The self-service bar was fantastic. It was so refreshing to come back to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing and enjoy a bowl of shaved ice or a custom-made drink. Our room type included Refa toiletries, a hair dryer, straightener, curling iron, and a Refa shower head, all of which were excellent. The staff were all very friendly. The location is super convenient, with two convenience stores, a river, Hanamidori, Ichiran Ramen, Mos Burger, Don Quijote, and more, all nearby. However, all the downsides were due to fundamental hardware issues: The windows offered no soundproofing whatsoever; it was as if there were no windows at all. I could clearly hear every gas-powered car that passed by, not to mention an ambulance or fire truck whizzing past every three hours on average. Plus, there are a lot of sports cars in Fukuoka, and they'd roar by every so often. The bathroom exhaust fan was as loud as a roaring sports car. There was an air purifier, but no power outlets nearby, so I had to move it to another spot to use it.

The room was a bit small and the cleaning was subpar. On the plus side, both check-in and luggage storage were self-service, which was very convenient.

This hotel is small but perfectly formed, with an excellent location that's super close to popular spots like Ichiran Ramen, Tenjin, and the Yatai (food stalls) – all within a 10-minute walk. The self check-in and check-out process was very convenient. Plus, there's a bar where you can grab drinks and snacks anytime, which saved us a lot on beverage costs. The only minor drawback was that some corners of the room had a bit of dust, so that could be improved!

Clean and comfortable, great value for money, and spacious. Everything was excellent. The location is convenient for transportation, and it's easy to get to Zhengzhou East Station. The breakfast was just okay, but the dryer was absolutely amazing – definitely the highlight!
