Shin Furano Prince Hotel

The room is spacious by Japanese standards, and outside the window, there seems to be a ski slope where deer come to graze at night. The hygiene is excellent, and the staff are all very warm and provide fantastic service! Although the hotel's location isn't the most convenient, there's a convenience store downstairs, and the hotel restaurant is also quite good! The best part is that it's right next to Wind Garden and Ningle Terrace, a golf course, tree adventure, and a hot spring bath. You could easily spend your entire vacation relaxing at the hotel. Compared to the large flower fields of Shikisai no Oka with its crowds, I much prefer the charming, quiet, and lovely Wind Garden.

This hotel is extremely old, and the room is ridiculously small. You can't even move around once your suitcase is open. The hairdryer is also very outdated. Its only redeeming quality is its proximity to the Elf House. The air conditioning was ineffective; it was terribly hot.

The hotel is a bit old and the rooms are quite small, but the service is good. Breakfast is just average. However, the surrounding natural scenery is beautiful, with the Forest Elf Terrace attraction right in front of the hotel. There's also a bakery at the entrance and a convenient mini-mart in the lobby on the ground floor, so overall it's pretty convenient.

I took the "Furano Biei Romantic Flower Tour" sightseeing bus at 8 AM, enjoyed the journey, and arrived at the last stop, the Shin Furano Prince Hotel's Ningle Terrace, around 4 PM. I got off there and checked directly into the Prince Hotel. This was a pre-planned arrangement based on my detailed research, saving me money, time, and hassle. After checking in, I booked the 8 PM buffet and then headed to the famous Garden of Wind. The scenery along the way was absolutely beautiful, and I even saw two deer. However, the Garden of Wind was a bit far from the hotel; it took me about an hour to walk there and back. By the time I got there, it was already closed, so I could only walk around the outside of the wire fence (which seemed to be electrified) to admire the small Garden of Wind. Then I returned to Ningle Terrace to continue my interrupted exploration. Since it was still early, I sat down for a coffee at the "Mori no Tokei" (Forest Clock) cafe before leisurely heading back to the hotel. The evening buffet was incredibly rich, featuring hand-rolled sushi and king crab legs. I ordered a carafe of sake and slowly savored my dinner. After dinner, I went to Shisai-no-Yu to enjoy the hot spring. The next morning, I had planned to take the nearby cable car up the mountain for sightseeing, but there was fog on the mountain, and I knew I wouldn't see anything, so I gave up. Instead, I returned to the hotel and enjoyed another hot spring. After checking out, I took the Asahikawa Line bus to Furano Station to continue my journey. If the timing is right, taking this Asahikawa Line bus is very convenient as it can take you to Furano, or Nakafurano, Kamifurano, Biei, and finally to Asahikawa. However, the buses are infrequent, with only about one every hour. You'll need to check their timetable. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and the fare from the hotel to Furano Station is 260 yen.

This was the most satisfying hotel on our Hokkaido trip. Although the facilities were a bit old, the service was absolutely perfect. 1. **Check-in experience:** We arrived around 1 PM by taxi from Hoshino Resorts (about 23,000 JPY). Unlike other Hokkaido hotels, the front desk didn't make us wait for the official check-in time. They promptly gave us our room cards, allowing us to drop off our luggage, rest a bit, and then head straight to the top floor for lunch, instead of going up and down. This was excellent. 2. **Dining experience:** Breakfast was on B1, and the milk was exceptionally good. For lunch, we had Italian food on the top floor. The taste was decent, and the view was fantastic, overlooking the picturesque landscape of Furano. The lunch service was also excellent. 3. **Room experience:** Finally, a duvet with a fully enclosed duvet cover! (In the previous days, including at Hoshino Resorts, the duvets were only half-covered, supposedly for 'environmental reasons' but actually for cost-saving. They would easily slip off, leaving you in direct contact with the potentially unclean duvet. The Furano Prince Hotel gets a thumbs-up for this!) The room was clean and tidy, and although not large, it could still accommodate a 30-inch suitcase. 4. **Surroundings:** It's a convenient 2-minute walk to Ningle Terrace and the cable car. There's also a lavender bus stop right outside the hotel, and you can buy tickets and check the schedule in the lobby. Although the hotel is a bit far from other Furano attractions, taxis and Uber are readily available and quick. I must commend the hotel's service again. I accidentally twisted my ankle on the steps leading down to Ningle Terrace one evening. My husband went to the front desk for help, and I saw hotel staff rushing out with a wheelchair and an ice pack, even when guests weren't looking. They were incredibly attentive and helpful, and I'm very, very grateful for that 🙏

Facilities: The hot spring is quite small, so you need to check the QR code for crowdedness to plan your visit. Hygiene: Excellent. Environment: Beautiful and perfect. You can gaze at the Tokachidake mountain range in the distance, and the Ningle Terrace and Garden of Wind are close by. Service: I received a bunch of discount coupons that were completely useless. There were long queues at the buffet restaurant during peak hours.
