This place reads like its amazing but honestly it is just ok. With no lift and no assistance offered to help carry bags. The room is as described but small and basic and the walls are paper thin. No ropes, mini bar or many power sockets. We had room 5 and we could hear absolutely everything from both rooms either side. Our room had an adjoining door to the room next door (opening into their room) and this wasn't locked and kept coming ajar open. We put our chair against it and think the other people did the same. Once we worked out about the door we could not hear everything (people coaching) as much but we still felt like we could not relax in our room. The breakfast was average (only continental) with nothing cooked offered. The pool is ok - narrow and functional for a swim. The location is rural (a car is recommended). Only one restaurant with limited space and as they cater for the neighbouring sister hotel you must book. They had 6 mains to choose from on the menu with daily specials. We stayed 3 nights so nearly had them all. The waitress lady is lovely although slightly pushy for her specials. The spa is also not on site and shared with sister neighbour hotel which ships their guests to here for dinner. On leaving to stay at our next destination (a proper 4 star hotel near Lake Como with lifts, large rooms, mini bar, ropes, spa on site) i realised just how this place was overrated. Should lose a star.

We came looking for tranquility and relaxation, and that was what we found at Ultimo Mulino. It's cosy, picturesque and full of charm, and the staff were all extremely nice and attentive. Breakfasts were delicious, with local products and freshly baked cakes, and the coffee was heavenly! Dinner at the restaurant was a real Tuscany treat, of course accompanied by excellent Chianti wines. Moreover, it's a perfect base for day trips across the region, with Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo and Florence just a short drive away.

Great place. We were not at the main location but it was just up the road. Service was great. We did eat at the restaurant once. It was not my favorite of our trip but not bad.

A gorgeous small (only 14 rooms?) boutique hotel, tucked away in a wooded valley, between Gaiole and Radda-in-Chianti, Only a 5-10 minute drive from both towns, but could be on another planet, it is so tranquil. Lovely public areas and rooms, with an outdoor pool (early in the season, so too cold to use when we stayed), jacuzzi and sauna. A nice restaurant on site, so you don't need to worry about drink/driving with all the wonderful local wines on offer. Staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Hope we can stay there again sometime!

Charming Hotel and grounds. Perfect for couples, relaxing. Most professional, helpful and nice staff. Very good breakfast and dinner. The only drawback is that you need to take the car for everything because of the somewhat remote location but the hotel and experience are definitely worth it!

Extremely disappointed in this property. The advertisement on ******* shows that there is a full service spa on site. There is no spa on site & there is no shuttle or transportation service offered by the spa or hotel to get there. To get a taxi to the spa would cost 80 euros… In addition other amenities that were disappointing or non-existent there was supposed to be opportunity for bike rental which the hotel never helped us set up, there was an onsite hot tub that was cold (!), there was no archery offered even though it’s listed.
Other disappointments about our stay are there were no towels in our room when we arrived & we had to ask reception for them. There were black hairs (not ours) in our bidet, obviously the bathroom had not been cleaned.
The reception was not helpful setting up a taxi for us for our departure and made us do it ourselves, they said they can’t help us because the leaving time was too early, so we need to call by ourselves to arrange it. The listing says reception is 24/7, but it’s not, they leave at 11pm and don’t arrive until 8am, so that is false information as well. The listing says soundproof rooms but they were not at all, we could hear everything in the halls and outside all night long. The whole entire stay was a complete waste of money and giant disappointment.
One thing I will say is Sandra was the only nice party of our stay. Thank you to her for trying to be kind. Every other staff was not very friendly or helpful at all.

Run of the mill place that is an offshoot of the actual hotel 1 km away. The staff are hit very capable and generally struggle understanding and speaking Italian or English. It does not feel like a staffed hotel. At breakfast (not very good, especially the coffee) when I asked the lady there where the milk for the cereal was, first she didn’t understand, then she told me abruptly you ask for milk and then I give it to you, which is rude. The rooms are large, but have no charm and look dated, even though the facility was taken over just 2 years ago. The price charged is not justifiable. You need a car to go anywhere, as it’s off a white road off a road 8km from the nearest village.

Based upon what the rooms cost, one would hope to have air conditioning that worked effectively and didn't rain all over our belongings inside our room. While Alessio did everything humanly possible to fix it, he was able to move us to a comparable room a day later where the air conditioning was better (when supported by a fan). The breakfast assortment was very good including scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages as well as assorted fresh fruits, breads and yummy pastries. The location was good for folks who want to visit lots of wineries and also be close to the primary roads. Alessio was helpful in every and any way possible. Alexandra, on the other hand, could barely be bothered to look up from here phone and, when she did, she was not terribly pleasant. We won't be coming back.
